Chapter 614 Daily Life in a Small Town
Chapter 614 Daily Life in a Small Town
"Can you tell what the problem is?" Glenn stepped forward and asked quietly.
The Flower God nodded slowly, "I said, I anticipated this situation."
"Then why is this?"
"These diseased flowers are eliminated. They cannot adapt to the environment here."
"This is your kingdom, the God of Flowers! Is there any place more suitable for flowers to grow than this?"
Glenn was incredulous.
"These flowers... are different." The flower god's tone was very light, revealing deep helplessness.
Glenn subconsciously wanted to ask what was different, but thought it might be the flower god's privacy or something, so he changed his tone and said:
"So what are you going to do?"
"Continue to plant flowers..."
"Then these..."
"We can't save them all. We can only make up for it by planting more."
"Okay, I'll go get the seedlings. Is it in the same place as before?"
Glenn pointed in the direction of the church.
The flower god turned around, walked to Glenn, reached out his hand and gently touched Glenn's face.
This action surprised Glenn. He felt that something was wrong with the flower god's condition at this moment.
At this time, the flower god said, "You should have other things to do, and you must be very tired after doing so many things. Go back and take a rest. I need to make some changes to the garden."
"Okay...ok." Glenn nodded hesitantly.
"Goodbye."
Glenn left the kingdom of the flower goddess.
Standing in his underground laboratory, he was stunned for a while, and suddenly took out the soul-guiding lantern.
He used the method taught by death to probe into it, and for a while he admired the sinful souls struggling in pain. Inexplicably, he felt much better.
It was time to execute his hell-building plan.
"But before that, go visit your neighbors and see what they've been doing lately."
Glenn walked out of the lab, out the door, and along the pavement path to the old man's door.
The old man’s house always exudes an old atmosphere, as if time has stopped here for hundreds of years.
He knocked on the door, and a low voice responded from inside: "Come in."
"Wang Wang Wang!"
There are also barking dogs.
Pushing open the door, Glenn saw the old man sitting in front of a table piled with books and experimental equipment. Two magicians each held a thin needle in their hands, facing a transparent sphere suspended in the air.
There seemed to be some kind of creature trapped in the sphere, which emitted faint groans from time to time.
The old man's dog came up to Glenn, wagging its tail wildly.
Glenn gently touched the dog's head and said to the old man, "Are you doing the pain experiment again?"
He walked over to the old man and glanced at the sphere.
The old man nodded, his eyes still fixed intently on the sphere.
"I've been studying the effects of different magics on pain perception. You've come just in time. Please help me record the data."
Glenn shrugged, picked up the notebook on the table, and began to record the data read out by the old man.
The creatures in the sphere let out painful roars under the stimulation of magic, but the old man seemed not to care and continued to adjust the intensity of the magic.
"Have you discovered any interesting phenomena recently?" Glenn asked casually while taking notes.
The old man was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "The limit of pain... is much deeper than I thought. Even the lowest level creatures can endure pain far beyond the limit of their life. This makes me a little... confused."
Glenn raised his eyebrows. "This is a protective mechanism, just like when a person feels pain to a certain degree, they become numb. Isn't this easy to understand?"
"Protection mechanism? Interesting..."
After recording the data, Glenn put down his notebook and patted the old man on the shoulder: "Don't be too stubborn. Take a break."
The old man did not respond, but continued to stare at the sphere, as if he was lost in some kind of thought.
After leaving the old man's house, Glenn walked towards the Purple Demon's villa.
The Purple Demon's villa is considered to be a relatively "lively" place here. Nalus likes to read books, and usually sets up a pavilion in the front yard, listening to the servants taking care of the yard and the sounds of the magic horses.
As Glenn walked to the door, he heard Nalus whispering something, a spell or something, a childish voice coming from the garden.
"Glenn!" When Nailus saw Glenn, she immediately ran over, holding a magic wand in her hand that looked very valuable.
"Hey, Naluo, reading again?" Glenn squatted down with a smile and touched Naluo's head.
"Yeah, hasn't Aduo come back yet?" asked Naluo.
"I'll pick her up shortly," Glenn replied.
Suddenly, he noticed a few glowing flowers in the small pocket of Nalus's skirt and asked, "What are these flowers..."
"Dad said these are seeds he brought back from afar, planted specifically for Mom." Nalus blinked and said mysteriously, "He also said he wanted to give Mom a surprise."
"Oh? What surprise?" Glenn asked curiously.
Just as Nalus was about to answer, the Purple Demon came out of the villa, holding a thick book in his hand, with a trace of fatigue on his face, "Glenn? Why are you here?"
"I came over to visit and see what you've been busy with lately." Glenn stood up and said with a smile.
The Purple Demon sighed and rubbed his temple. "I've been planning a wedding gift for my wife recently and wanted to find some rare magical materials, but I haven't found anything suitable."
"Need some help?" Glenn asked.
The Purple Demon shook his head and said, "No need. This is my intention. I have to come in person."
"Well, good luck to you."
After bidding farewell to the Purple Demon and Nailus, Glenn headed towards the residence of the witch Avisha.
Ivisa's house is always full of mystery. A string of wind chimes is hung at the door at some point, making crisp sounds when the breeze blows.
Glenn knocked on the door, and Ivisa's lazy voice came from inside: "Come in, the door is not locked."
When he walked into the door, he did not see the witch. He knew that she should be in the laboratory, so he went to the door of the laboratory.
Pushing open the door, Glenn saw Avisa sitting in front of a long table covered with magic scrolls, holding a feather pen in her hand, writing and drawing on a scroll.
Her long hair was casually draped over her shoulders and there was a faint smile on her face.
"How come you have time to come to see me today?" Ivisa raised her head, a hint of cunning flashed in her eyes.
"I was passing by and came to see what you were working on." Glenn walked over to her and glanced at the scroll on the table.
"I'm researching a new kind of magic that can allow people to see fragments of the future in their dreams." Ivisa put down her quill and stretched. "But it's not very stable yet. More experiments are needed."
"This is considered divination, which is a good idea. Dreams themselves are connected to the long river of fate. This method may really be feasible." Glenn nodded.
