Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!

Chapter 459: Doing Good Once More

Chapter 459: Doing Good Once More

Nancy Shea thought that life was playing too big a joke on her today.

A police station called her, delivering two pieces of unfortunate news.

Her daughter was suspected of a crime and needed to be investigated.

The second piece of news was that June Sherman had been beaten into the hospital, still undergoing treatment, condition unknown.

Nancy Shea’s heart skipped a beat at that moment.

She rushed to the hospital first to learn about June Sherman’s condition.

She had been knocked unconscious, had a mild concussion, and had been slapped, worsening the injuries from a few days earlier, causing a perforated eardrum.

The condition was somewhat serious, and surgical repair might also impact her hearing.

Nancy Shea listened to the doctor’s report, her entire expression wooden.

The police told her that there was a reason for the attack, that it was done in self-defense, and June Sherman was seriously criminal; she was currently on medical parole, and once she woke up, she would be subject to a formal investigation.

With so many people knocked unconscious, no matter the purpose, this counted as a major case.

June Sherman couldn’t escape.

Nancy Shea sat on a chair outside the hospital room, pale-faced, pondering what mistake she had made in educating her child.

-

Thea Shaw had experienced a brawl, inhaled some kind of drug, and was taken to the hospital along with colleagues for a check-up.

Landon Ford was dealing with the aftermath of this incident, outside the hospital on the phone.

He currently felt no goodwill towards the Sherman family; after his subordinates reported problems at this nightclub, he already intended to completely ruin them.

Once Thea Shaw finished her check-up, the police informed her, and she saw Nancy Shea sitting outside June Sherman’s hospital room.

"Auntie Shea."

Thea Shaw walked over to see the pale-faced woman with tears streaming down, her expression calm yet serene: "Are you grieving for June Sherman?"

At that moment, Nancy Shea already knew that this matter was related to Thea Shaw.

She trembled as she asked, "What did she do?"

Thea Shaw said, "I believe the police have already told you; she invited our department for a meal, but drugged the private room, incapacitating me and my colleagues. If it weren’t for my unique resilience, what do you think would have happened to us?"

Though doctors were puzzled at how Thea Shaw inhaled so much drug yet remained unaffected, such a person wasn’t unheard of; it could only be attributed to a unique constitution.

Nancy Shea’s tears flowed uncontrollably, but she didn’t blame Thea Shaw; she felt deep remorse: "I never thought... she would commit such a big offense."

"You should have thought of it."

Thea Shaw crouched down, looking up at Nancy Shea.

At that moment, Nancy Shea saw in her eyes an indifferent compassion: "Auntie, many things you should have sensed. Your daughter and husband aren’t simple individuals."

"But now, I’m not planning to discuss this matter with you. I’ve always wanted to solve another issue for you. You previously consulted Mr. Anson; he said you’ve been searching for someone for years. I’m also a fortune-teller; if you give me that person’s birthdate details, I might help locate their whereabouts."

Initially, it was purely to exploit Nancy Shea for money.

But now Thea Shaw wasn’t thinking about money anymore; animosity had been forged, and considering Nancy Shea’s husband and daughter were both perverse, she would soon be abandoned, with a fate of an early demise, so she might as well do a good deed.
