Chapter 277 Wu He 1 Wants to Go Fishing
Chapter 277 Wu He 1 Wants to Go Fishing
Wu Heyi stood at the bow of the ship, the sea breeze gently caressing his face. He pointed to the boundless sea in the distance, a thoughtful look in his eyes, and said:
"Look at this boundless sea, what comes to mind?"
At this moment, Wu Heyi's black hair swayed slightly in the wind. He blinked his eyes, which sparkled like stars, as if he was waiting for an answer that pleased him.
“I’ve got it!” Mengxuanjun stood beside him, her gaze fixed on the colorful sea.
The sea surface shimmered, and the sunlight shone down, making it look like countless pieces of gold were jumping around.
Every now and then, waves would splash up and crash heavily against the hull, making a "bang" sound.
Mengxuan Jun didn't immediately grasp Wu Heyi's meaning. He scratched his head and joked:
"Hey, you don't actually want to go swimming, do you?!"
Upon hearing this, Wu Heyi swayed violently and almost lost his balance and fell to the ground.
He shook his head helplessly and said, "Old Meng, think about what's usually in rivers and lakes?"
Wu Heyi felt that what he wanted to express was as clear as the thing right in front of him. He crossed his arms and stared intently at Meng Xuanjun, full of anticipation.
Meng Xuanjun was a little embarrassed by this sudden transition, and his face turned slightly red, like the clouds on the horizon dyed by the setting sun.
He frowned, thought carefully for a moment, and then said, "There's water everywhere, lots and lots of water!"
"Bang!" Wu Heyi suddenly felt a pain in his heart, covered his face speechlessly, and thought to himself: What kind of answer is this?
He really couldn't understand it. He didn't know when it started, but Meng Xuanjun, who was originally very cunning and clever, had become like an idiot, answering such a simple question so ridiculously.
Wu Heyi couldn't help but throw the question he had just asked Ah Dai and Ah Che back at them.
Ah-Dai was burly and had dark skin, like wheat that had been repeatedly baked by the sun.
Archer, on the other hand, was agile and always had a kind smile on his face.
The two looked at each other and said in unison, "Fish!"
Wu Heyi immediately spread his hands, his tone tinged with helplessness:
"Hey, even those two not-so-bright people know that, how come you didn't think of it!"
Wu Heyi looked at Meng Xuanjun with a speechless expression, his eyes full of dissatisfaction with Meng Xuanjun's answer.
When Ah-Dai and Ah-Che heard Wu He-Yi say that, they were a little embarrassed and scratched their heads with silly grins. Ah-Dai scratched his head with his rough hands, while Ah-Che grinned, revealing his white teeth.
Several maids nearby covered their mouths and chuckled, their laughter like silver bells swaying in the wind.
Meng Xuanjun was so embarrassed that he wanted to crawl into a hole. He had made such a simple question so complicated. His face turned even redder, like a ripe tomato.
However, Mengxuanjun wasn't the type to remain in an awkward situation forever because of a momentary embarrassment. He quickly adjusted his demeanor and tentatively asked:
"You mean we should go fishing in the sea?"
Upon hearing this, Wu He snapped his fingers crisply, the sound echoing in the air, as if to encourage Meng Xuanjun, who had finally become clever again!
"Forget about fishing. The ocean hasn't been developed yet. Who knows if you're going down there to catch fish or to feed the fish?"
Wu Heyi smiled, a faint smile playing on his lips. His gaze swept over the crowd as he continued:
"Let's get one of us a long pole to use as a fishing rod, and then we'll have a fishing contest to see who catches more fish."
"Fishing?" Mengxuanjun, Adai, and Ache exclaimed in confusion almost simultaneously, all with the same bewildered expression. They frowned, their eyes full of incomprehension, clearly not understanding what fishing meant.
Seeing the expressions on the three people's faces, Wu Heyi also had some questions.
It's perfectly understandable that Mengxuanjun doesn't know how to fish, since his true form is a soul beast, and a mental one at that, so it's normal for him not to eat regular soul beasts.
Wu Heyi pondered to himself, his gaze lingering on Meng Xuanjun for a moment before shifting away.
It was very strange that Ah-Dai and Archer didn't know anything about fishing, as both of them were members of a hunting team in a primitive tribe.
In the tribe, Ah-Dai is incredibly strong and can easily carry huge prey.
Archer is known for his agility and is skilled at tracking.
They were very familiar with hunting, and fishing is a type of hunting, so why were they so clueless?
"Chief, fishing won't work. We tried it before, and we spent the whole day by the lake and only caught a fish the size of a palm. It was gone in one bite!"
Ah-Dai hasn't gotten used to the change of address yet. Everyone else calls him either "Sect Leader" or "Your Majesty," but Ah-Dai still calls Wu He-Yi "Clan Chief."
When he spoke, his voice was rough and deep, like the sound of an old bellows being pulled.
"Archer, how did you guys fish before?"
Wu Heyi probably already guessed the reason, but still hoped to get a definite answer.
Upon hearing Wu Heyi's question, Archer immediately took action.
He picked up a chopstick from the table; the chopstick appeared somewhat slender in his large, rough hand.
Then he found a thin rope on his person, clumsily tied one end with his rough fingers, and then, just like fishing, put the other end of the rope into the tea.
"Is this all you're going to do?" Wu Heyi was speechless as he watched Archer's actions.
His eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief.
"Yes, that's it!" the two said in unison, their voices filled with determination, as if it were the most natural thing in the world for them to do.
"No fishing hooks, no bait?" Wu Heyi questioned, his eyebrows raised high, his eyes full of surprise.
What is a fishhook?
What is bait?
Wu Heyi was completely stunned by these two sudden questions.
He looked up at the sky, his mind filled with only two words: utter speechlessness.
These two people are fishing without using hooks or bait, just letting the line drop, and they still manage to catch fish! It's purely a case of willing fish taking the bait!
For a moment, Wu Heyi didn't know whether to praise the two for their good luck or call them fools!
Wu Heyi shook his head helplessly, then walked to the table and took out paper and pen.
He carefully wrote and drew something, stroke by stroke, the pen tip making a scratching sound on the paper.
After he finished writing, he instructed the maid beside him. The maid respectfully took what Wu Heyi had written, bowed, and then left with the writing.
"Wait a minute, I'll teach you what real fishing is all about!" Wu Heyi said, arms crossed, his eyes brimming with confidence.
