Chapter 15 The Status of the Hyuga Clan

Chapter 15 The Status of the Hyuga Clan

Inside the courtyard of the Hyuga clan chief.

"Congratulations on your graduation, Kanan!" Hinata Kanan's mother's eyes were filled with joy as she came up and gently hugged her youngest son.

The father maintained his usual expressionless face, but a hint of pleasure was revealed in the corner of his eye. He then reached out and patted Hyuga Kanan on the shoulder.

The mother instructed the servants to prepare dinner, as today was a family gathering for the Hyuga Kanan family.

Hyuga Hizashi was happily sharing his experiences as a ninja with his younger brother. Hyuga Hiashi stood beside his father, mimicking his father's demeanor, and spoke in a low voice to his youngest brother with a blank expression.

"I thought you weren't planning on becoming a ninja! I never expected you'd end up becoming one anyway!" Before he could say anything more, his father raised his hand to interrupt him.

Hyuga Kanan looked at his older brother, Hyuga Hiashi, and simply smiled slightly without replying.

The mother was somewhat displeased by this scene. Although they were a family, and Hiashi Hyuga was the eldest brother, he always imitated his father's serious expression and never thought of helping his younger brother. Just because she was from the main family and her brother was from the branch family, the whole family was filled with estrangement and indifference.

They didn't look like a family at all.

Thinking of this, the mother took out a scroll from her bosom and whispered to Hyuga Kanan:

"This is a scroll containing the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms technique. It also contains some training tips and experience, which can help you learn and master it more quickly, allowing you to better protect yourself after becoming a ninja."

The mother looked at her youngest son with an apologetic expression:

"Because your mother wasn't very strong before, and didn't know many ninjutsu, there wasn't much she could teach you. Many of your father's ninjutsu were secret techniques passed down only within the main family, and you basically had to learn the prerequisite Eight Trigrams Palm before you could learn them, so don't blame your father..."

“This gift is wonderful, thank you, Mom!” Hinata Kanan interrupted her mother with a smile:

"I don't have much talent for Gentle Fist, and mastering the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four would take a long time. I don't need any other ninjutsu or secret techniques. This gift is just right!"

Compared to the Bagua Twelve Palms and Bagua Sixty-Four Palms that I saw my father use when we fought before, they were just more frequent and had more attacks. After seeing my father use them, I understood the principle of Bagua Palm.

Baguazhang is just a way of using energy in the body. The secret techniques of the main family are just more advanced ways of using energy. As long as you grasp the basic principles, you can quickly figure them out. Back then, I used my soul power to observe the energy operation pattern when my father used it, and it was very easy to perform.

For me at this stage, none of these things are important.

The main focus now is to accelerate my cultivation and reach the Innate Realm as soon as possible. This way, I can truly mobilize the power of heaven and earth, unleash the potential of my Five Elements Body, and use ninjutsu like a ninja, increasing my survivability. After all, both the Hyuga clan and I primarily engage in close combat, which is far too dangerous. It's easy for the enemy to unleash a large-scale barrage of ninjutsu, and I don't have a substitution jutsu to evade it.

"Come, look at the gift I prepared for you."

Hyuga Hizashi took out a ninja tool pouch, handed it over directly, and said with a smile:

"The ninja tool kits the school gave you didn't have many usable items. I've prepared some things that almost every ninja can use here. For example, there are soldier rations that I specially bought from the Akimichi clan, specially crafted close-combat kunai, wire for setting traps, and I've also prepared some explosive tags for you. Instructions for use and some mission experience are also included."

"Thank you, Second Brother!" Hyuga Kanan took the ninja tool bag, put it in his pocket, and smiled at Hizashi to express his gratitude.

He really needed the instructions for some of the items and mission experience inside. He valued anything that could increase his chances of survival on the battlefield. He wouldn't look down on the battlefield experience of the native ninjas just because he was a transmigrated cultivator. Anything that could guarantee his survival was useful in his eyes.

Hizashi nodded to Hyuga Kanan, then glanced at his expressionless older brother beside him, signaling him to bring out the gift he had prepared.

Hiashi seemed to understand Hizashi's gaze, reached into his robes and took out a scroll, handing it to Hyuga Kanan. He then introduced it, saying, "This is a ninjutsu I specially prepared for you, a secret technique of the main family, Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation. It's a ninjutsu that combines offense and defense, specifically designed for survival. It should be very useful to you."

Hyuga Kanan didn't reach out to take the scroll; instead, his gaze fell on Hyuga Kagami, who sat at the head of the table. This was a secret technique of the main family, not something Hiashi could casually give him. Even if he spent some time, he could deduce it himself. But with this scroll, he could not only learn it quickly without spending time, but also use it openly. After all, his time was very tight; he had too many things to learn and cultivate, so saving time was always good. He looked at his father to see his attitude. If he disagreed, then so be it; he could deduce it himself with some time, though he wouldn't be able to use it freely.

Hyuga Kageki was somewhat surprised to see his youngest son looking at him but not reaching out to take the scroll Hiashi offered. Had there become so much estrangement within his family? The fact that he couldn't even accept gifts from family members made him feel a little sad, but he still nodded to his youngest son to indicate that he could accept it.

When Hyuga Kanan saw his father nod to him, he reached out and took the scroll from his older brother Hiashi, thanked him, and showed no further expression.

It's clear that Hyuga Kanan doesn't feel the warmth and happiness of family towards his older brother, Hiashi; instead, he feels only estrangement and unfamiliarity. His mother, watching from the side, is somewhat worried, wondering if she should give her younger son more attention later. Since her younger son failed to demonstrate exceptional ninja talent, her husband has paid little attention to him, rarely visiting him after arranging for him to live in a separate courtyard. The same goes for her older son; he spends his days studying with his husband and rarely cares for or visits his younger brother.

Hyuga Kakei naturally witnessed this scene as well, and after thinking for a moment, he said to his youngest son:

"Jianan, come to the study with me, I have something to tell you."

After saying that, he got up and walked towards the study.

Upon hearing this, Hyuga Kanan stood up, nodded to his mother and second brother, and then strode after them.

When Xiang Jianan entered the study that day, he saw his father already sitting at the desk, gesturing for him to sit down; he had something to say to him. He quickly went to sit opposite the desk and pretended to listen.

After seeing that his son was already seated, Hyuga Kagaku also spoke up:

"The Ninja World War has begun, and you, having just become a ninja, will soon be joining the fray. I know you are quite strong, but war is incredibly cruel and bloody. Even I have to be extremely careful to survive. Therefore, I hope you can remain calm and cautious, and strive to learn and grow. Battlefield combat is the best aid to growth, accelerating your strength increase, but the prerequisite is survival..."

It's clear that Hyuga Kakugan has some concerns about his youngest son, and he's patiently and earnestly teaching him.

Hyuga Kanan listened attentively and expressed her agreement.

War is never a game; it's a battlefield of life and death. In war, life is the cheapest commodity, and every clash inevitably results in the loss of many lives. The unreserved teachings of a father who has experienced war will certainly increase one's chances of survival.

"That's enough about the war. Now let's talk about our Hyuga clan. Our clan holds an unshakeable position in Konoha because of our Byakugan. You could say our Byakugan is a powerful weapon in war, which gives us a special status on the battlefield. Konoha ninjas will do everything in their power to protect our clan's safety, but in return, the enemy will do everything in their power to kill us as soon as they discover us. Therefore, the only thing we need to do on the battlefield is to protect ourselves as much as possible and try not to reveal our location and whereabouts."

Upon hearing this, Hyuga Kanan understood the status of the Hyuga clan.

The Hyuga clan is like a human radar for Konoha, capable of monitoring all situations within a certain range at any time. This gives Konoha ninjas an inherent advantage, allowing them to adjust their strategy at any time, whether to attack or retreat.

For the enemy, this is something that must be dealt with first. As long as members of the Hyuga clan are found, even if they can be dragged down and killed, it will be a great achievement and will bring considerable rewards to their families.

In both of these cases, the Hyuga clan holds a special position in the entire ninja world.
