Chapter 292 Hope
Chapter 292 Hope
The sky above King Kai was overcast, as if mourning the devastating news to come. Yamcha trembled, his face etched with grief. He slowly approached King Kai, his voice trembling with sobs as he asked, "Lord Kai, Goku...is Goku dead?"
King Kai sighed deeply, his gaze grave, and slowly said, "Namek has exploded. Judging from the current situation, Goku has not been able to escape."
"No!" Yamcha's legs went weak, and he collapsed to his knees with a thud, pounding the ground with his fists, tears streaming down his face. "Damn it! How could Goku die? He was so powerful..."
King Kai shook his head helplessly, his voice low and somber: "This is an unchangeable fact. But we must tell Goku's family on Earth, especially his son, at least regarding the consequences..."
Chiaotzu, whose eyes were red-rimmed, sniffed and suggested, "Why don't we tell Bulma first? She's close to Goku's family and can handle things better afterward."
“Yes! Yes!” King Kai nodded. “We need to let them know as soon as possible.”
Yamcha bit his lip, trying to calm his turbulent emotions. After a long while, he stood up and said in a slightly choked voice, "I'll talk to Bulma myself..."
King Kai nodded slightly, his eyes filled with helplessness and expectation, and said softly, "Alright, then I'll leave it to you, Yamcha. I hope you can convey this message well and try your best to appease them."
Yamcha nodded silently, slowly walked behind King Kai, took a deep breath, placed his hand firmly on King Kai's back, concentrated his mind, and shouted loudly, "Bulma! Bulma! Can you hear me? Bulma! Bulma!" His voice was filled with urgency and tension, echoing in the sky above King Kai's planet.
His palms were slightly sweaty as he prayed for Bulma's swift response. Every second of waiting felt like an eternity; his brow furrowed deeper, and a hint of unease flickered in his eyes.
“Bulma…did you hear that…Bulma…”
……
On Earth, sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled patterns on the forest grass. Bulma is sitting on the grass, fiddling with leaves, when suddenly, a familiar yet ethereal voice echoes in her mind.
Bulma's hand stopped abruptly, her brow furrowed, and she quickly stood up alertly, scanning the surrounding woods to try and find the source of the sound.
"Bulma, can you hear me? It's Yamcha." The voice came again, as if it were coming from all directions.
A hint of doubt flashed in Bulma's eyes. Her lips parted slightly, and she subconsciously muttered to herself, "Yamcha?"
“Bulma, I am communicating with you telepathically through King Kai.” Yamcha’s voice had a slightly ethereal quality.
"Telepathy?" Bulma's eyes widened, her beautiful blue eyes filled with shock, and she couldn't help but raise her voice in response.
Everyone noticed Bulma's unusual behavior. Gohan leaped down from a nearby boulder, strode to her side, his fluffy tail swaying casually, his face full of concern: "What's wrong? Aunt Bulma, is it King Kai sending a message?"
Bulma paused slightly, a look of surprise instantly appearing on her face: "Exactly! You little rascal, you're quite clever. But, the one I was talking to was Yamcha!" She then closed her eyes, her hands unconsciously clenching tightly, anxiously asking in her mind, "Yamcha, are you alright?"
"Well, even though I'm dead, I'm doing alright with King Kai. Oh, by the way, listen carefully, it's about Goku. Goku has defeated Frieza!" Yamcha said, trying to sound calm.
Bulma's eyes lit up instantly, her beautiful face beaming with excitement. She turned around, grabbed Gohan's arm, and shouted excitedly, "Gohan! Yamcha said Goku defeated Frieza!"
Upon hearing this, the crowd instantly erupted in excitement.
Piccolo crossed his arms, a rare smile appearing on his face, and patted Shang Yun's shoulder beside him: "Goku finally won." Shang Yun nodded vigorously, his eyes full of relief, the beads of sweat on his forehead glistening in the sunlight.
Son Gohan's face flushed with excitement, his once clear eyes now shining like stars. He grabbed Dende's hand, spinning around and cheering, "Great! My dad won!"
On the other side of the lawn, Vegeta sat alone under a tree, his hands clenched into fists, his nails digging deep into his palms, muttering through gritted teeth, "Damn it, Kakarot actually defeated Frieza!"
"Bulma, don't get too excited. After Goku defeated Frieza, he tried desperately to escape Namek, but Namek exploded in the end, and Goku... he couldn't come back." Yamcha's voice was tinged with sorrow, as if you could see his dejected look as he lowered his head.
Bulma paused, an incredulous look on her face, then a mocking smile appeared on her lips as she looked at Gohan: "Gohan, listen to this, Yamcha said that after your father defeated Frieza, he didn't escape Namek and perished along with the planet..."
"Bulma! How could you talk like that? Don't you even consider Gohan's feelings! Goku is gone forever!" Yamcha's voice was filled with anger, and his volume rose several decibels.
Bulma suddenly burst into laughter, hands on her hips, the sunlight shining brightly on her golden hair: "Yamcha, you really don't know anything! We've already obtained the Namekian Dragon Balls, and they're right here on Earth. What's even more amazing is that these Dragon Balls can revive the dead an unlimited number of times! That means Goku, Krillin, and you can all be resurrected!"
Inside the King of the Realms' Palace, Yamcha was stunned, his eyes wide and his mouth agape. After a long while, he murmured, "Is that really so?"
Tien Shinhan saw Yamcha looking shocked, his thick eyebrows furrowed into a deep frown, and stepped forward to nudge him: "Yamcha, what's wrong with you?"
Yamcha snapped out of his daze, his eyes gleaming with excitement, waving his hands: "Everyone can be resurrected! Even Chiaotzu can be resurrected!"
"Really?" Tien Shinhan's eyes widened, his face filled with surprise, and the wrinkles on his forehead smoothed out.
Just as Yamcha was about to reply, King Kai's deep voice rang out, tinged with a hint of helplessness: "Those who know nothing are precisely the Earthlings..."
"Huh? Lord Kai, what's wrong?" Yamcha asked anxiously, leaning forward as if he could get closer to the King Kai.
"Gyoza can indeed be resurrected, but Goku and Krillin... the Dragon Balls can revive the dead on the spot..." King Kai's voice grew heavier, as if carrying endless sighs.
Upon hearing this, Dumpling looked puzzled, her round face filled with confusion: "This...so you mean...Lord Kai..."
"Goku and Krillin will be resurrected on Namek, but Namek no longer exists." King Kai's words were like a bucket of cold water, extinguishing the hope that had just been ignited in everyone.
