Chapter 145 Capturing Vegeta
Chapter 145 Capturing Vegeta
Krillin streaked across the Namekian sky like a shooting star. His energy surged, and the wind howled in his ears. Excitement and elation churned within him, causing him to shout, "Amazing! I never imagined I was this strong! At this rate, I can bring Shangyun and Gohan back in just a few hours!"
……
Above the vast skies of Namek, a uniquely shaped Frieza soldier slowly descended upon a ravaged village. He had a squid-like head, and his triangular eyes gleamed with a cold light. He looked down at the devastated village below, his heart filled with bewilderment. The once orderly houses were now ruins, the ground was riddled with deep trenches and charred marks, and a suffocating silence permeated the once tranquil streets.
"What happened?" The squid soldier's shrill voice shattered the silence. "We haven't even attacked this place yet, so why have all the people here been murdered?" His eyes scanned the surroundings warily, trying to find a clue in the ruins.
Just then, his gaze suddenly caught sight of a figure—a Namekian dragging his battered and bloodied body, slowly crawling towards the lake. With each inch he moved, a shocking trail of blood was left behind him. His eyes were filled with determination and perseverance; despite his extreme weakness, he still moved towards his goal with unwavering willpower.
That Namekian had only one thought in his mind: to find the Dragon Balls that Vegeta had sunk into the lake. This was their belief, and the key to the fate of the entire planet.
Seeing this, the squid soldier instantly appeared before the Namekian. Looking down at the dying man before him, he demanded again in a stern voice, "What happened? What on earth happened here?"
The Namekian, enduring excruciating pain, raised his head, his eyes burning with fury: "It's the Saiyans, the Saiyans attacked the village..." His voice was weak but filled with hatred, each word seemingly squeezed out with difficulty from between his teeth.
"It really is Vegeta." The squid soldier sneered, a hint of disdain and annoyance on his face.
Without warning, the squid soldier stretched out his hand, and a powerful and malevolent energy rapidly gathered in his palm. The energy flickered like a black flame, radiating a chilling aura. Before the Namekian could react, the squid soldier launched a fierce attack, a deadly energy wave shooting out from his palm and striking the unsuspecting Namekian precisely.
With a loud bang, the Namekian's eyes widened as his body was instantly blasted to pieces, turning into countless bits of flesh and blood mist that drifted into the air, leaving only a patch of crimson blood that stained the shattered land.
The squid soldier looked at the carnage before him with no pity, only utter disdain: "What useless trash." He clapped his hands, as if brushing off dust, then turned and vanished into the horizon, leaving behind only the Namekian village ravaged by war.
……
On Namek, in the dark and gloomy central hall of Frieza's base, cool-toned lights shone on Frieza's cold and majestic face. His long, muscular arms were crossed over his chest, and his entire body floated lightly in the air, like a cold demon god looking down on all things in the world.
At this moment, Sabo rushed over, his steps slightly hurried, his battle suit still bearing some damage and dust from his battle with Vegeta.
As soon as he stepped into the hall, Sabo immediately knelt on one knee, bowed his head deeply, and said respectfully, "King Frieza, your...your subordinate has returned."
Frieza's lips curled slightly downwards. "Come in." He then slowly lowered himself, landing steadily on his feet, and asked, "Hmph, tell me, what have you found along the way?"
Sabo remained kneeling on the ground, not daring to raise his head, and answered tremblingly, "Your Majesty... Your subordinate is incompetent and failed to find the Namekian village. However, I happened to encounter Vegeta on the way."
“Vegeta?” Frieza raised an eyebrow slightly, a mocking smile playing on his lips. “Oh? So you fought him? You weren’t forced to transform again, were you?”
Sabo's body trembled slightly, a look of shame on his face, and he said in a low voice, "Yes...yes, Your Majesty."
Frieza turned to Sabo, a sharp glint in his eyes, and demanded, "So, did you take care of him?"
Sabo swallowed hard and answered cautiously, "Your Majesty... I'm not so sure. Vegeta was already seriously injured and barely breathing at the time. In my opinion, he probably wouldn't last much longer."
Frieza scoffed, "Why don't you confirm whether he's dead or not?"
Sabo was so frightened that he kowtowed repeatedly, his voice trembling even more violently: "Your Majesty...please forgive me! The situation was critical at the time. Seawater was rushing into the cave, and Vegeta was already seriously injured. I thought he was surely not going to survive."
"Are you worried about your clothes getting wet from the seawater? Sabo, you shouldn't have dared to fight Vegeta on your own initiative! Do you know how serious the consequences would be if Vegeta had already found the Dragon Balls and hidden them?"
Sabo's face turned deathly pale. His eyes widened in terror as he cried out, "Lord Frieza, I know I was wrong! I'll go and bring Vegeta back right away!"
Just as the tense atmosphere seemed to freeze, the squid-headed warrior rushed in from outside. He jogged all the way, then abruptly stopped at the entrance of the hall, bowing his head and saying, "Lord Frieza, your subordinate...your subordinate has important information to report!"
Frieza turned to the squid-headed warrior and said calmly, "Speak, what is it?"
The squid-headed warrior slightly raised his head: "M-Your Majesty, I have found a Namekian village, but... but the village has been completely destroyed. I found some signs of a fight at the scene, and in my opinion, it is very likely that Vegeta was responsible."
"Oh?" Frieza's eyes showed a hint of surprise. He leaned forward slightly, put his hands behind his back, and asked, "Do you have any evidence?"
The squid-headed warrior quickly replied, "Your Majesty, when I arrived, one Namekian was still alive. He... he told me that the Saiyans stole the Dragon Balls."
