Chapter 254 The Final Exam Week

Chapter 254 The Final Exam Week

After talking with Barty Crouch Jr., I continued walking back to Severus's office.

I locked the office door before heading to his lounge.

I cautiously entered the lounge and saw that Severus had already woken up and was sitting up.

I smiled and walked to the bedside to sit down, watching him eat lunch.

"How did you sleep? Do you want me to cover your class this afternoon so you can rest a bit more?" I said, watching Siever eat.

"No need, I feel like I've rested enough. I'll feel uncomfortable if I sleep any longer. Besides, don't you need to go to class?" Severus said to me after finishing the last bite of his food.

"It seems like it's exam week soon, and I've reviewed the material pretty well." The implication was that I didn't care about skipping class, but Severus definitely wouldn't let me skip class; he'd probably urge me to go.

"Yeah, I know you make things easy for me." Putting everything else aside, Severus is quite satisfied with Ayers' academic performance, after all, he's a true academic star.

"Seeing that you've had a good sleep and eaten well, I'll leave now to go to class. I'll come back to find you tonight." I stood up with a smile and went to Severus's side.

I slowly bent down, my movements as gentle as if afraid of disturbing this beautiful moment.

She gently cupped Severus's face in her hands, her fingertips caressing his delicate skin with endless affection.

My thumb gently glided across Severus's lips, feeling the warm touch.

Then, my face slowly drew closer, and our breaths gradually mingled together.

Finally, I gently pressed my lips against Severus's lips, the movement very soft.

This kiss is filled with a thousand words: deep love, long-lasting companionship, and endless tenderness.

Severus closed his eyes slightly, his hands unconsciously gripping my arms as he responded to the kiss.

Time seemed to stand still at that moment, the whole world fell silent, and only the sound of each other's heartbeats echoed in the air.

After a long while, I slowly raised my head, my forehead still touching my lover's.

Their eyes met, filled with deep affection and longing.

I looked at Severus's slightly flushed cheeks, a satisfied smile playing on his lips, a smile so full of happiness it was almost overflowing.

"Wait for me to come back tonight," he said softly, his voice carrying a hint of reluctance, but mostly tender love.

Severus nodded slightly, his eyes full of trust and reliance, and replied softly, "Okay, I'll be waiting for you tonight."

I took one last, deep look at Severus, to remember this beautiful moment, to remember what he looked like at that moment.

Then, I straightened up, turned around, and took a step.

Every step I took was tinged with a hint of reluctance, yet my back remained steadfast.

As I walked to the door, I stopped and turned back to look at Severus sitting on the bed.

Severus remained seated quietly, a slight upturn at the corners of his mouth as he looked at me. His smile, like the light of a lighthouse, illuminated my heart.

I smiled back, a smile that held both satisfaction and a deep reluctance to part with Severus.

But I'm not one to dawdle, so I gently pushed open the door, left the loving room, and carried this sweet feeling towards the classroom where I was going to class.

"Ayers, over here~" Fred's voice could be heard as soon as you stepped into the classroom.

I walked straight over there and sat down next to Gemini and the others.

"This seems to be Professor McGonagall's class, your own headmaster's class. Don't get criticized again." Fred and George are the class's source of joy, but also troublemakers. Even their Gryffindor professor McGonagall can't control them.

"What are you saying, Ayers? We all attended class properly." Fred had a look on his face that said, "I did attend class very well."

"Ask yourself if you believe what you're saying," I asked with a smile. Not to mention me, even he himself didn't believe it.

“Fred, stop putting on an act in front of Ayers. We know each other inside and out,” George retorted at just the right moment.

"Wow~ Are you two ganging up on me?" Fred pretended to be heartbroken and pressed his hand to his heart.

"Really? George, did we say anything?" I looked at George with an incredulous expression.

“Of course not, Ayers,” George replied, playing along with my act.

"George, have you betrayed your brother too?" Fred said, looking heartbroken.

We chatted and laughed as we waited for Professor McGonagall to arrive and begin class.

The following days passed peacefully at Hogwarts. Students went about their classes, meals, and rest as usual. However, beneath the calm, a subtle anticipation was quietly brewing, because Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were about to leave, and at the final dinner party, Headmaster Dumbledore would announce the final rankings of the Triwizard Tournament.

Finally, the moment of dinner arrived.

The auditorium was decorated in a magnificent manner, with tables laden with sumptuous food and candlelight illuminating every expectant face.

The students of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang sat with the students of Hogwarts, feeling a pang of reluctance but mostly curiosity about the outcome.

Headmaster Dumbledore rose to his feet, and the Great Hall fell silent instantly. His gentle gaze swept across the room, and he began to announce in a clear and steady voice: "In this magnificent Triwizard Tournament, every warrior has displayed extraordinary courage, wisdom, and magical skill. They represent not only their own houses, but also the hope of the younger generation of the entire wizarding world."

"Fourth place goes to Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." Fleur rose gracefully, a faint smile on her beautiful face. Although she did not win the championship, her elegance and outstanding performance earned her enthusiastic applause from the entire audience.

Her composure and charm in the face of various challenges left a deep impression on everyone.

"Third place goes to Viktor Krum from Durmstrang Academy." Upon hearing his name, Krum slightly rose, his face maintaining its usual stern expression, but a hint of disappointment lingered in his eyes.

He performed exceptionally well in the competition, especially during the underwater mission, where his unique magical skills were impressive; however, the fierce competition ultimately placed him in third place.

"Second place goes to Ayers Hall Grindelwald from Watts School." I stood up calmly and smiled nonchalantly at the young wizards.

All the young wizards knew that I had an accident in the last competition and couldn't return in time, thus missing the competition and falling to second place. However, the strength I showed in the previous rounds earned me enthusiastic applause from every young wizard, which was the warmest respect they could give me.

Finally, Headmaster Dumbledore's voice rose a few decibels: "And the champion of this Triwizard Tournament is Harry Potter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!" The entire hall erupted in thunderous applause and cheers.

Harry stood up somewhat shyly, his eyes filled with emotion.

Along the way, he experienced countless hardships and obstacles; each project was a tremendous test of his physical and mental strength. His courage in the face of the Hungarian wood bee, his perseverance at the bottom of the Black Lake, and the unexpected events in the maze all gave him profound insights.

This competition allowed students from different houses to get to know and respect each other, and it also made the future of the wizarding world more hopeful.

As the rankings were announced, the banquet reached its climax. Amidst laughter and cheers, the students brought this unforgettable competition to a perfect close, and the stories of courage, friendship, and magic will forever remain in everyone's memories.

After the banquet, I was supposed to go back to my dormitory with the wizards from Slytherin House.

To my surprise, Percy was waiting for me in one of the corridors we had to go through.

“Ayers, I need to talk to you privately, is that convenient?” Percy was standing in the shadows of the corridor, so I couldn’t see his expression.

"You guys go back first, I'll go back by myself." I knew that Percy must have come to confront me this time. I don't think I talked to him about the time I disappeared before, so he must be angry this time.

"Ayers, please take care of yourself. We're heading back now." Draco, as the representative, led the group away.

After the young Slytherin wizards had all left, I looked toward the shadow where Percy was standing.

"Sorry, Percy, can you come over here?" He probably won't listen to any explanations now, so just admit your mistake and apologize first; that's always the right thing to do.

But Percy, who was standing in the darkness, did not come over; he remained standing in the darkness.

"If you don't come to me, I'll go to you." Seeing Percy like this, I had no choice but to take the first step and walk towards him.

Percy didn't turn around and leave; he was just being stubborn and didn't want to come over to me.

When I too stepped into the shadows, I saw Percy, whose face was already covered in tears.

"No, don't cry, it breaks my heart to see you like this." I quickly walked up to him and hugged him tightly.

"Ayers, you're such a bastard!" Percy finally accused, her voice trembling with tears.

Percy nestled gently in my arms, her body trembling slightly, like a wounded bird seeking shelter.

I could feel his rapid breathing, and the heat from his breath seeped through his clothes and burned my skin.

I instinctively tightened my arms around him, wanting to give him more warmth and a sense of security.

To avoid making a sound in the hallway, Percy held back his sobs, each tiny whimper feeling like a sharp knife cutting into my heart.

I looked down and saw his tears falling like broken beads, large drops rolling down his face, soaking his cheeks and my clothes.

"You disappeared for a day without telling me anything. What do you take me for?" he choked up, his voice thick with emotion.

“You’ve gone too far, Ayers…” Every word seemed to have been uttered with all his strength, accompanied by soft sobs, echoing in the silent space.

I opened my mouth, wanting to explain, but found that my throat felt like it was choked by something, and I couldn't say a word.

All I could do was listen silently to his sobs and feel his pain and grievances.

"I only found out about this later from other people's conversations." His voice gradually rose, and he became more and more agitated, his body trembling violently in my arms.

I held her tightly, as if she would disappear if I let go.

I felt guilty. It turned out that my self-righteous practice of only reporting good news and not bad news made him feel insecure.

“I’m not even attending Hogwarts anymore, so I don’t know anything about you. I can only find out what happened to you through conversations with other people.” His tears streamed down his face, soaking my chest.

Those details I had overlooked are now flooding back at me like a tidal wave, making me feel utterly ashamed.

I gently stroked his hair, trying to calm him down. "I'm sorry, it's my fault..." I finally managed to squeeze out a few words, my voice filled with remorse.

He looked up at me, his eyes blurry with tears, his gaze full of grievance.

"I don't want to hear you apologize, I just want to know everything." After saying that, he lowered his head again and continued to cry.

At that moment, I deeply felt his inner pain and realized how much my negligence had hurt him.

"Don't cry, okay? I'll tell you everything, okay? I really know I was wrong." His crying made my heart ache.

"Okay." Percy's tears subsided slightly when she heard me say that, but her voice still trembled with sobs.

"Come on, let's go to the Room of Requirement. I'll explain everything to you clearly tonight." I never expected Percy to be such a crybaby; he's crying a whole bunch of golden tears.

He habitually cast a 'confusing charm' on himself and Percy, and thus pulled Percy toward the Room of Requirement.

After locking the door, I led Percy to sit down on the sofa.

"Have you eaten anything?" I hugged Percy tightly and took out some snacks and two cups of brewed herbal tea from my portable backpack.

"I only ate a little bit." Percy had calmed down by now and took the herbal tea I offered, taking a small sip.

"What's there to cry about? What questions do you have? Shouldn't I answer them?" I took out a handkerchief, moistened it with some herbal tea, and gave it to Percy to soothe his eyes.

"Why do I suddenly have these strange feelings whenever I talk about you, Ayers?" Percy didn't think he was the type of person who cried easily, so why did he become like this when it came to Ayers? He had just lost control of himself.

“If you want to hear it, I can tell you everything.” She put her arm around Percy’s waist and rested her head on his shoulder.

“I want to know everything, including everything you do with them,” Percy threw the question at me directly.

I could only tell Percy what I could.

"Ayers, is there something you haven't told me?" Percy wasn't stupid; he could tell I was hiding something from him.

"Percy, can I tell you the rest, or it will hurt you?" I didn't want Percy to get hurt. Riddle, that man, always makes things difficult for the people around me; he's too domineering.
