Chapter 239 The Second Event of the Triumph Tournament
Chapter 239 The Second Event of the Triumph Tournament
[Gold: Ding—Activated new nickname for Tom Marvolo Riddle, the target of your pursuit: Lover]
After Riddle and I finished breakfast in his castle, we returned to Hogwarts Castle using the Portkey.
I appeared in the classroom as usual, holding a book and reading, waiting for class to begin.
As time went by, the second event of the three-way battle began.
As time went on, an increasingly tense yet exciting atmosphere filled Hogwarts Castle, as the second event of the Triwizard Tournament was about to begin.
The Black Lake outside the castle resembles a giant piece of black jade, its calm surface seemingly concealing countless secrets.
The lakeside was already crowded with spectators, including students from various Hogwarts houses, who chattered and speculated about what was about to happen.
The students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang stood neatly to the side, their faces showing varying degrees of anticipation.
The teachers, on the other hand, maintained order with serious expressions.
In a secluded corner of the castle, four warriors were making their final preparations.
Harry Potter, dressed in a special waterproof robe, looked somewhat solemn.
He gripped his wand tightly, his mind replaying the spells he would use underwater.
Viktor Krum appeared much calmer, carefully checking his equipment and occasionally taking deep breaths to ease his tension.
Fleur de la Cour gracefully arranged her hair, her beautiful eyes sparkling with determination.
I remained silent, staring intently at the black lake, as if trying to foresee everything underwater.
Once the referees were in place, the Minister of Magic loudly announced the start of the second project.
The four warriors walked towards the Black Lake at the same time, and their figures gradually disappeared into the water.
The lake water instantly enveloped them, creating ripples all around them.
As soon as he entered the water, Harry cast the Bubble Head Charm, creating a transparent bubble around him that allowed him to breathe normally. He stared wide-eyed at the strange and mysterious underwater world around him.
The aquatic plants sway in the water like soft ribbons, and all sorts of strange creatures move among them.
Suddenly, a huge Grindylo lunged at him, baring its fangs and claws. Harry quickly waved his wand and used a spell to repel it, continuing on his way.
I merged with the bloodline of the Water Kirin, transforming myself directly underwater. I became as agile as a fish in water, my eyes sharp, not missing a single detail as I carefully searched for the hidden "treasure".
Hibiscus moved gracefully underwater like a mermaid, using magic to give herself a fishtail that swayed nimbly as she moved forward.
However, she encountered a group of water monsters on her way, and after a fierce battle, she was able to escape.
With his strong physique and superb magic, Krum overcame all obstacles along the way.
He unleashed powerful magic, clearing away all the obstacles in his path.
On the lake, the audience stared nervously at the surface, no one knowing what was happening underwater.
Time passed second by second, and finally, I was the first to break through the water, holding Severus in my arms.
A cheer erupted from the shore.
Severus never expected that he would be tricked by Headmaster Dumbledore. Knowing that he was sensitive to potions, Dumbledore had Professor McGonagall knock him unconscious. In the end, he only realized what was going on when he saw Ayers transform back into human form from his water unicorn form.
But that's not the point yet. Severus and I came ashore soaking wet, and Madame Pomfrey immediately shoved a bottle of energy drink into our hands, which we both downed in one gulp.
Then they stood aside and waited for the others to appear.
Faced with the complex underwater environment and the dangerous monster, Krum demonstrated his formidable strength.
His wand unleashed a series of sharp spells, precisely repelling the approaching water monster.
In his search for the hostages, he encountered a group of troublesome Greendylos.
These Grindylos lunged at him menacingly, but Krum was fearless. He unleashed his unique combat magic and engaged in a fierce battle with the Grindylos.
With a powerful swing of his wand, spells were fired like cannonballs, and the lake water was illuminated by the magical light, displaying a dazzling array of colors.
In the end, with his unwavering perseverance and powerful magic, he overcame numerous obstacles and successfully rescued Hermione. When he reached the shore, he was slightly tired, but his eyes were full of the pride of victory.
Harry, on the other hand, was well-prepared this time.
He had thoroughly studied the competition venue beforehand, and after entering the lake, he quickly located the hostages.
However, a group of water monsters blocked his way.
These water sprites have enchanting songs and try to bewitch themselves.
Harry closed his eyes, concentrated, and relied on his pre-prepared anti-interference magic to resist the water nymph's song.
He skillfully evaded the water monster's attack, using the surrounding rocks as cover to quietly approach the hostage.
Upon approaching the hostage, Harry quickly untied the ropes binding Ron and used magic to create a safe protective shield for the two of them.
During his return to the surface, he remained vigilant about other dangers and ultimately completed his mission without incident.
Harry and Ron stepped ashore with confident smiles, earning cheers from the Hogwarts teachers and students.
Three heroes have now surfaced, leaving only Hibiscus in the water.
Hibiscus encountered a giant squid guarding the bottom of the lake underwater, and she used magic to soothe it in a gentle and skillful way.
She waved her wand gently, emitting a soft light, and chanted incantations; the lake seemed to calm under her magic.
Her meticulously woven magic net distracted the giant squid, and she quickly swam toward her target.
However, as it approached its target, the current suddenly became rapid, and the giant squid regained some of its ferocity.
Fleur was slightly flustered, but she quickly calmed down and used an enhanced binding spell to successfully control the situation. She then successfully surfaced with her sister, whom she was trying to rescue, winning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Finally, it was time for the headmasters and the Minister of Magic to give their evaluations.
Since each hero unsurprisingly brought back their own 'treasure,' the scoring was done in a very ordinary, sequential manner.
Then, unsurprisingly, I once again came in first place and returned to my dorm room, which I hadn't been back to for a while, amidst applause from everyone.
Having a habit from my past life, and feeling that I didn't want to catch a cold, I took a warm shower, dressed neatly, and went to the kitchen.
Since today was the second match of the Triwizard Tournament, there were no classes at Hogwarts for any of the grades all day. Now that the match is over, I'm a little hungry.
When I arrived at the kitchen, I didn't expect to run into a group of people.
"Ayers's here! We knew you'd come looking for food after the match, so we had the house-elves prepare a hot pot." I'd barely stepped into the kitchen when Fred spotted me.
"Today is a good day. Harry and Ayers did a great job." Ron was even happier than we were when we won the game.
“Ronnie has described your underwater performance in great detail, and now there are many versions of underwater commentary circulating throughout Hogwarts,” George said to me with a smile.
“I see. If I remember correctly, I was one of the first to surface with Professor Snape. Ron was probably still unconscious at the time.” I smiled as I looked at Ron, who was now too scared to look at me.
“I already told Ron not to talk nonsense.” Harry knew that Ayers wasn’t the type to blame Ron. He knew I was just joking, so he joked back at Ron.
"Senior Ayers, I know you won't blame me, right?" Ron said to me nervously with an awkward smile.
"It's hard to say. How about I punish you by not letting you eat meat for a while?" I said to the others with a smile.
"Great idea, little Ronnie, I'll help you eat it." Fred listened with a happy expression.
“Little Ronnie, I can help you eat too, no need to thank us,” George added.
"No~ You can't do this to me~" When Ron heard everyone say this, he felt like the sky was falling. For someone who loved eating meat the most, not being able to eat meat was the most vicious punishment.
“We’ll let you try it,” I said to Ron with a smile.
"Even Senior Ayers treated me like this, you guys are really going too far!" Ron looked at the group of people around him with a sullen face.
"Looks like I'm a little late. Is there any left for me to eat?" We were still laughing and joking when Cedric, who was right next to the kitchen, finally arrived.
"Isn't Cedric the closest to here? Why are you only arriving now?" Harry watched us laughing and joking, standing to the side watching the show.
"Don't even mention it. There are so many trivial matters to deal with at our own academy, and the headmistress of our Badger Academy isn't too keen on managing these things, so she just put me in charge." Cedric sat down in the empty seat, picked up some food with his chopsticks, and stuffed it into his mouth.
"Cedric, have you not eaten all day?" Seeing Cedric eating so voraciously, is he starving?
They directly put the meat and vegetables that they had put into the hot pot into his bowl.
"Yeah, I've been so busy today, I haven't even had time to eat." Besides managing his own academy, Cedric also had to manage some junior wizards from several other academies.
Also, there's a three-way competition today, so he needs to manage and arrange things for the younger students.
"Eat more if you're hungry." I quickly scooped a lot of food from the hot pot and put it into Cedric's bowl.
"Ayers, you're being unfair! Why didn't we get the food you gave us?" Fred, who had been fighting with Harry for food, immediately joked when he saw me giving Cedric some.
“Me too? Me too!” Hearing Fred’s words, George also stopped arguing with Ron and looked at me and Cedric.
"I see you two are enjoying your meal," I said with a smile, placing a slice of tender meat on Fred's and George's plates.
“But we feel that the meat we fight over doesn’t taste as good as the meat you put on our plates.” Fred picked up a piece of meat from his bowl and stuffed it into his mouth.
“Yes, yes,” George replied while eating.
“Ayers rarely gives me service, and you guys are trying to take it all away.” Cedric smiled as he looked at the twins.
“It would be strange if we didn’t rob them; Ayers’ service is the best,” George replied.
I watched them bicker with a smile, while secretly putting some food on Harry's plate as well.
Harry just watched them bickering while laughing, and quietly ate his meal alone.
Meanwhile, Ron, who was next to Harry, quickly and secretly scooped up some food and put it into his own bowl.
"Why don't you switch places with me? I want to eat what you put on my plate today." I pushed my empty bowl between Fred and George.
"You should have said so earlier, Ayers! What do you want to eat? We'll get it for you." Fred saw my empty bowl and immediately snatched the spoon from Ron's hand, who was secretly scooping food out of it, and scooped a bunch of food into my bowl.
"Ayers, what else would you like to eat? I'll put it in." The ingredients were next to George, so he took my order directly and put in whatever I wanted.
“Here, you can eat this to fill your stomach first.” Cedric, who had almost finished eating, was no longer particularly hungry, and he placed a small plate of pastries in front of him in front of me.
Even Harry put some vegetables into my bowl. I was the one who put food in their bowl just now, but now the tables have turned and they're the ones putting food in mine.
"Thank you so much." I smiled and ate all the food they gave me, making sure not to waste a single bite.
In Ron's world, which was injured, Fred took the spoon he had just picked up, George took the food he wanted to eat before he could put it down, and Cedric took it from him as well.
Even more surprisingly, Harry noticed that the vegetables he had just put in the pot were gone.
So he was the only one who got hurt, while senior Ayers benefited.
Seeing poor little Ronnie, I smiled and put a meatball into his bowl.
I really wanted to laugh when I saw his expression.
"Thank you, Senior Ayers." Ron thought he was the only one abandoned by the world, but he didn't expect that Senior Ayers was still thinking of him.
"Eat up, Ronnie, or there won't be any left for you." Fred also put a piece of green vegetable on Ron's plate.
“That’s right, hurry up and eat, don’t be shy with your brothers.” George also put a lot of vegetables on his plate.
"You wretched Fred and George, can't you give me some meat? Bring out the meat now, don't hide it, I want to eat!" Ron, who was initially touched, immediately flew into a rage when he saw his two older brothers had given him a pile of vegetables.
Then the Weasleys' food-grabbing spree officially began, with twins Fred and George battling it out against Ronnie.
As expected, Ron was completely defeated, but Fred and George still gave Ron a lot of meat in the end.
The naming scheme emphasized avoiding waste, and in the end, Ron was so full that Harry had to help him back to his dormitory.
Cedric and I certainly enjoyed a good show.
