Chapter 47 Having Money Makes You a Little Extravagant
What happens when someone suddenly becomes very rich?
"I've never seen so much money before!"
"Me too!"
Zhou Fengchen and Monk Yuanzhi threw 200,000 yuan in banknotes onto the bed in the rented room, then each sat on one side, smelling the ink on the money, and started counting it as much as they could.
After counting seven or eight times until his hands ached, Monk Yuanzhi finally stopped, still feeling unsatisfied, and said, "The happiest things in life are sleeping until you naturally wake up and counting money until your hands cramp. It seems I've achieved both now."
Zhou Fengchen also put down the money, and reminisced about the past, saying, "When I was little, I loved eating candied hawthorns, but my dad wouldn't buy them for me, saying that eating too many would hurt my teeth. Actually, he didn't have any money. The money he earned from performing rituals was used to feed Linglong and me. Whenever the candied hawthorn vendor passed through town, I would chase after him for two miles. The vendor got annoyed and threw me a hawthorn that wasn't coated in sugar syrup. I hid it for several days, not wanting to eat it, but Linglong found it and ate it. I cried so much!"
Monk Yuanzhi laughed heartily and said, "No problem, today we'll buy two hundred yuan worth of candied hawthorns, all you can eat!"
"No need for that, we can't finish it all." Zhou Fengchen chuckled and said, "This deal was really worth it. Tell me, what can you do with so much money?"
Monk Yuanzhi thought for a moment, scratched his bald head, and said, "Actually, there's not much I can do. I mainly want to save some money, find a woman to marry before I turn forty, and leave some descendants for my dead parents, otherwise it will be difficult to meet them after they die."
"Does it cost a lot of money to get married?" Zhou Fengchen asked curiously.
Monk Yuanzhi said dejectedly, "Women these days are so materialistic! They want a car, a house, and savings, otherwise no one will be with you, especially someone like me who isn't good-looking, has no parents, and is in my early thirties. If the conditions aren't right, I simply can't find anyone."
Zhou Fengchen said, "This is a troublesome matter. How about... you take them all and find an old woman first?"
"What are you talking about?" Monk Yuanzhi glared and said, "Even if you gave me everything, it wouldn't be enough. Forget it! Let's not think about tomorrow today. There are plenty of opportunities to make money. Let's figure out where to go and have some fun tonight, so that our hard work tonight won't be in vain."
Zhou Fengchen said, "Okay! I'll take the day off and rest for a bit. Let's go out and have some fun."
The two were so excited that they couldn't sleep. After discussing it for a while, they hid the money in the blankets, each took 10,000 yuan, changed into plain clothes, locked the door, went to a small restaurant to say hello to the proprietress, and then headed straight to the most bustling part of the city.
The two wandered around aimlessly, spending money without a plan, buying whatever caught their eye. By noon, each was carrying a large bag of random things. They then went to a hot pot restaurant and ordered the most expensive dishes.
It was already three or four in the afternoon when we finished eating. As the saying goes, when you're full and warm, you start thinking about other things. Monk Yuanzhi mumbled, "Brother, how about we go relax for a bit?"
Zhou Fengchen didn't understand. "Relax what?"
Monk Yuanzhi made a lewd gesture as if to say, "This."
"Playing with your fingers?" Zhou Fengchen asked.
Monk Yuanzhi's eyes widened: "Are you really unaware or pretending? Go find a woman, huh?"
Zhou Fengchen's face flushed red. "I want to too, but I'm cursed with bad luck in love; losing my virginity will kill me!"
Monk Yuanzhi touched his bald head. "In that case... let's find a nightclub and feast our eyes."
Zhou Fengchen asked curiously, "A nightclub for a visual feast? Are there any big-breasted women there? As big as watermelons!"
Monk Yuanzhi gave him a knowing look that said, "You're such a closet pervert!" He chuckled, "Hehehe, you can choose whatever you like!"
Zhou Fengchen longed for it, "Can I touch it?"
"Give it to us! We absolutely have to!"
"Okay! I'll check, it's fine."
……
The two chose a nightclub called "Brilliant Starlight." After entering, they booked a private room. Zhou Fengchen frowned as he looked at the male waiter carrying beer and snacks and asked, "Why is it a man? Where are the women?"
Monk Yuanzhi, a regular at such places, slammed his hand on the table and said to the waiter, "Call your madams, I need to order people."
The waiter was very polite and said that the madams and ladies were not working and that it would be after 7 p.m.
Zhou Fengchen and Monk Yuanzhi were dumbfounded when they heard this, so they simply kicked the waiter out and drank their wine in silence while chatting nonsense.
They waited until seven or eight o'clock when there was a knock at the door. A heavily made-up woman entered, grinning, and said, "Oh dear! You two handsome gentlemen must have been waiting impatiently, right? Your girls are all here!"
Monk Yuanzhi's eyes lit up. "Quickly, bring him in!"
"Come in!"
The mother waved her hand, and fourteen or fifteen girls filed in, each dressed in their finest attire and exuding sex appeal.
Monk Yuanzhi chuckled, rushed forward, and pulled two back. Then, with a wink, he said, "Brother, the women are here. Choose!"
Zhou Fengchen swallowed hard, his heart racing. He scanned the remaining ones one by one, then pointed to two of them, "You and you, yes! Just the two of you, that's enough!"
The two girls smiled and were about to walk over when the door to the private room was suddenly kicked open. A bearded man yelled, "You bitch! Wasn't Ah Cui reserved by my brother? How come she's been given to someone else? Do you want to die?"
Mommy was startled and quickly bowed and apologized, "I'm so sorry, Brother Hao! I didn't know! I'll take it to him right away!"
The bearded man snorted, glanced at Zhou Fengchen and Monk Yuanzhi, and turned to leave.
"Handsome, I'm sorry!" Mommy apologized to Zhou Fengchen and pulled one of the girls Zhou Fengchen had chosen to leave.
"Uh!" Zhou Fengchen was still confused. What was going on?
Monk Yuanzhi's face turned red, and he slammed his fist on the table. "What's wrong with you, you stinking woman? Do you even know what my brother does? You've really got some nerve. You dare to drag him away and see what happens."
The madam smiled, turned around and said, "Judging from your accents, you two are from out of town, right? Hao, who just spoke, is the boss here. You can't beat him, so don't cause trouble."
Monk Yuanzhi was about to utter some more harsh words when Zhou Fengchen tugged at him and asked, "What do you mean?"
Monk Yuanzhi said indignantly, "Someone's trying to steal your woman!"
Zhou Fengchen's eyes widened. He didn't quite understand what "stealing a woman" meant; the young lady wasn't his woman. But it sounded infuriating, so he slammed his fist on the table and yelled, "Who's so shameless?"
"You're asking for trouble!" Mom shook her head, seemingly uninterested in arguing with them, and pulled the girl away.
"This is too much!" Monk Yuanzhi was furious. As he was speaking, he noticed that Zhou Fengchen had followed him. He paused for a moment, then quickly followed.
The two followed their mother and the woman through two lavishly decorated corridors to the door of a private room labeled "888." The mother escorted the girl inside, then turned around and was startled, exclaiming, "Oh dear! What are you two doing here?"
"Get out of my way!" Zhou Fengchen said coldly.
"There are so many people inside! And lots of them practicing martial arts!" Mommy's face turned pale with fright. "Just the two of you, you'll die if you go in!"
Upon hearing this, Monk Yuanzhi had second thoughts and pulled Zhou Fengchen aside, saying, "Brother, how about... we just let it go?"
"How can that be?" Zhou Fengchen was unwilling. He was essentially a troublemaker, but he hadn't let loose yet since entering the city. Now that he was acting impulsively, he didn't care about anything else.
The person inside seemed to have heard it too, and a loud voice shouted, "Who came from outside, you bastard, daring to steal my woman?"
"You little wench!" Zhou Fengchen kicked the door open, stepped into the private room, patted his chest, and said, "What the hell?!"
The twenty or thirty men in the private room were stunned when they saw Zhou Fengchen. The leader, a man with a big beard, changed his attitude abruptly and grumbled, "You... if it were you, you could take him away. Why are you so temperamental?"
Another bald man smiled ingratiatingly, "Oh! What a coincidence, it's Senior Zhou! Take him away, take him away, don't be shy! Hahaha."
"Uh!" Mommy was stunned, and Monk Yuanzhi was also dumbfounded.
Zhou Fengchen blinked, looking at the group of people in the private room, especially lingering on the bald man's neck for a moment, and said, "Jiang Suoshen, Monk Yimu, you guys are here to see an old lady too?"
Jiang Suoshen and Monk Yimu smiled awkwardly, "Yeah! Hehe."
"OK!"
Zhou Fengchen pulled the bewildered girl out, and when they reached the door, he turned back and said meaningfully to Monk Yimu, "Bald Monk Yimu, don't blame me for not warning you, you have a little devil riding on your neck, it might kill someone."
Monk Yimu's face turned from white to green, then from green to red. He held back for a moment, then said dryly, "Senior Zhou, you really know how to joke!"
"Believe it or not, it's up to you." Zhou Fengchen shook his head and pulled the girl away.
