43-13 Snack Street
Mo Bei hurriedly ran to the small pond outside to fetch water. As soon as he knelt down, all the water surged, transforming into a water dragon that rushed towards the treehouse. Mo Bei turned around and saw that the treehouse had been extinguished, only the chocolate walls were slightly charred. The water dragon was swirling at Dongfang Yun's finger: "Idiot, if you have spiritual power, you should know how to use it." Mo Bei then realized he had forgotten to cultivate his spiritual power, scratching his head: "Oh dear, actually, I've been too tired from practicing Guiding the Stars these past few days, my brain hasn't had a proper rest. You agree, right?" Dongfang Yun transported the water dragon back to the pond: "Hahaha, yes, then next we'll reward our little glutton with a trip to the snack street." Mo Bei jumped three feet high upon hearing this: "Yay, the snack street! We're saved!" Dongfang Yun chuckled secretly from the treehouse. Yun Sheng, who had been resting peacefully, was inexplicably awakened by the fire, even though he was supposed to be fireproof: "I don't care, I was just woken up by the fire!"
Mo Bei and Dongfang Yun emerged from the bushes at the entrance of Qianqi Forest and discovered that they were under the Crown of Heavenly Shade, with a sign that read "Meow Meow House" hanging nearby, which to most people appeared to be just an ordinary decoration.
Just as Dongfang Yun was about to activate his Divine Speed ability, Mo Bei stopped him. As Dongfang Yun looked at him, Mo Bei began to speak: "I think, for a place as vast as the Tianyin Empire, walking is probably better. After all, in the future…" He paused, thinking of his friends and the incredibly arduous path he would take to become the strongest in the universe—a stark contrast to their current tranquility. Dongfang Yun agreed. After all, the initial purpose of Divine Speed was to prevent excessive travel time from taking a toll on the body. However, this also meant that those who didn't have time to travel wouldn't see the scenery along the way. It was simply a matter of personal choice; those who appreciated the scenery would naturally choose to leave.
The two walked along the shore of the lake, a mirror reflecting the sky and water. The lake breeze gently lifted the long hair of the girl and the boy, and from that moment on, their paths intertwined.
Fish swim lightly in the clouds, boats glide across the ripples, cranes sing as one gazes at the ink-washed desk, and the dark waves of the Red-crowned Bay are breathtaking.
This is a poem specially written for this place by Oriental Sega. Sharing the same name as the Water and Sky Sunglasses, it's one of the few places in the entire universe that can rival the beauty of the Perpig Three Flower Tower, and also one of the few places in the universe that promotes Chinese culture.
Mo Bei sighed, "In this scene, I feel like reciting a poem: 'Little fish swim in the water, a wooden boat ripples the surface, a crane stands in the distance, at the inkstone in the bay, my eyes follow, the ripples are just right. How fortunate! I sing to express my aspirations!'" Dongfang Yun chuckled, "Hahahaha, isn't this the early stage of 'Water and Sky Inkstone'?" Mo Bei scratched his head sheepishly, "Oh dear, you noticed that. But having a reference point makes writing quite fast, and don't you think the last line, 'How fortunate! I sing to express my aspirations,' is very moving?" Dongfang Yun nodded, "Hahahaha, yes, yes." The two walked along the shore, a red wooden pavilion appearing in the distance, indicating they were about to reach the snack street.
Dongfang Yun gently covered Mo Bei's eyes: "Wait, I'll give you a surprise." Mo Bei became somewhat expectant. Soft light seeped through his fingers, coming from the lanterns. He pulled his hand away, and the buildings of the food street came into view. They were mainly made of mahogany, with pavilions made of mortise and tenon joints and intricate designs, lanterns hanging below. Every three steps led to a path, every five steps to a pavilion, with benches for resting and bluestone backs. It wasn't a flat plain; there were streams and gentle slopes, crisscrossing and crisscrossing. There were also diners, dressed in sheer gauze and holding round fans, a sea of people but not in a hurry, queuing in an orderly manner without any restrictions.
Mo Bei was captivated. A Hanfu appeared in Dongfang Yun's hand, and she gracefully turned and put it on. Mo Bei took it, but couldn't help asking, "Is it mandatory to wear this?" Dongfang Yun replied, "No, it's just that when too many people wear it, those who don't feel out of place. A few years ago, my father noticed some people didn't want to spend money to buy it, so he informed the Void Shield's textile department to mass-produce and distribute it for free." Mo Bei was slightly shocked, not because it was free, but because, "The Void Shield cares about these things?" Dongfang Yun answered, "Yes, after all, war isn't every day. Once they've had enough rest, we can't let them be idle, can we?" Mo Bei nodded, "That's true."
After Mo Bei finished dressing, Dongfang Yun pulled him inside. Looking at the sea of people, Mo Bei asked, "Didn't Yun'er say there would be fewer people?" Dongfang Yun, realizing she hadn't escaped, replied, "Hehehe, a small mistake, a small mistake. I thought they'd all be over at the parade area."
Dongfang Yun led Mo Bei to a place with long queues. Dongfang Yun said, "There's a shop here that will definitely whet your appetite." Mo Bei looked at the two long queues and exclaimed, "I can tell, but both shops are doing so well!" Dongfang Yun explained, "No, these are all customers of the same shop… the shop next door even closed down because of it. Besides, you don't have to worry about being cut in line here. The 'Secret Eye' records your location in real time, so you can come back anytime. Therefore, some people order in advance and then go elsewhere. Very few people are actually willing to queue." Mo Bei was shocked after hearing this.
A voice was calling Dongfang Yun's name.
