Guang. Um.
A fleeting look of gloom crossed Nagase Tsukiyo's face, but realizing she shouldn't disturb her club members' mood, she smiled and said...
"She came to listen, but had to leave earlier because of something, so she asked me to come and congratulate you."
"Like this..." Upon hearing these words, Yukawa Sakurako felt as if her heart had been brutally crushed.
Nagase Tsukiyo looked at Isomoto Yuuka again, her slender arms wrapped around her neck, and whispered:
"Haru-nori doesn't know how to face you. She said, Yu-ka, you're already different. If you're willing, take her euphonium and continue on your way to the end."
"Mmm..." Yuka Isomoto's eyes reddened as she hugged her tightly.
"Nase-senpai!"
"Senior Tsukiyo! You've arrived!"
Every now and then, many members would come up to greet him, each with an excited smile.
Kitahara Hakuba looked around at the members, a satisfied smile on his face.
He felt a sense of accomplishment... that the girls he had nurtured for so long had finally borne fruit for the first time.
“Mr. Kitahara.” Suddenly, a deep voice sounded in his ear.
Kitahara Hakuba turned his head and saw that it was Ōtaki Chikao.
His face was no longer filled with the arrogance he had shown when he last visited the school; instead, it showed a hint of wariness and worry.
“Mr. Otaki.” Kitahara Hakuba composed himself.
"Your guidance is amazing; you've managed to train them to this level in just a few months."
Otaki Chikao crossed his arms, took a deep breath, and said...
"Especially Isomoto, her playing ability really exceeded my impression of her. Maybe my judgment is not clear enough."
After hearing this, Kitahara Hakuba turned to face him and said calmly:
"Tomorrow is the race in the Sapporo area, and I hope you can make it to the finals."
Upon hearing this, Otaki Chikao's lips curled into a mocking smile:
"Offering blessings to your opponent, how interesting."
Kitahara Hakuba shook his head, his tone gentle and calm:
"After all, defeating you with the Shin-Asahi Brass Band across the entire region would give me a greater sense of accomplishment."
He paused for a moment, but wasn't angry; he just laughed out loud.
"Haha, alright, see you at the All-Culture Conference. I'm not giving you my spot."
After saying goodbye, Otaki Chikao left. Before leaving, he deliberately glanced at the Shin-Asahi High School brass band, a subtle and complex expression on his face.
Kitahara Hakuba knew what he was thinking. He wondered if he had really misjudged him, or if Kitahara had some unique insight into guidance.
But saying more is useless; facing the future is the only thing we can do.
The members of the brass band couldn't sit still and kept talking excitedly. Even Sakurako Yukawa was so immersed in the joy that she didn't want to leave.
Kitahara Hakuba waited a few seconds, then clapped his hands and shouted:
"I'm certainly happy to have secured the sole spot, but I apologize for disturbing everyone. After today, we'll be preparing for the National Tournament. This is just the beginning; the finish line is the National Tournament. Please continue to work hard!"
"Yes!"
Next, everyone received their certificates and trophies and moved to the entrance of the venue, waiting for the previous school's wind band to finish taking photos before coming forward for a group photo.
"Yuka, you take this trophy." Yuka Sakura handed over the trophy, which gleamed golden in the sunlight.
Yuka Isomoto hesitated for a moment, then quickly refused:
"No, no, I don't need it."
"Oh, I'll give it to you! Otherwise you won't get the All-Star Trophy next time, okay?" Akamatsu Sayaka said with a grin.
"Yuka, take it."
Sakurako Yukawa's eyes drooped slightly as she smiled gently and said...
"You're the first person in the wind band to get really hardworking; everyone can see that."
"I:
"
"Hurry up! There are schools waiting to take pictures!" Akamatsu Sayaka said.
However, the female minister from the next school said with a smile:
"We're not in a rush! We can take our time! After all, it's only a once-a-year opportunity!"
Yuka Isomoto blushed and had no choice but to accept the trophy. It was heavier than she had imagined, but she was really happy to hold it.
"How does it feel?" Sakurako Yukawa raised her hand and stroked the girl's hair.
Yuka Isomoto felt a warmth in her heart, and a bright smile appeared on her face as she said:
"I feel... recognized. Even though I'm just dust, I can be the most dazzling dust."
“Silly child, no one said you are dust.” Sakurako Yukawa smiled.
"Alright! Let's take a group photo!" Sayaka Akamatsu called out. Then, Yuka Isomoto was placed in the center, next to Sakurako Yukawa, who was holding a certificate.
Suzuki Yoshie stood behind Akamatsu Sayaka and made a prank on her hair.
Kuno Tachibana's "One-Year Combination" seemed to have made a pact, raising their hands and extending their index fingers towards the camera.
What does your index finger mean?
"It means you've always been number one!"
Kitahara Hakuba stood on the right, with Ame-no-Kami standing next to him. She gently raised her right hand and made a V-sign at the camera.
"Shin-Ukyu High School Brass Band - Part 1!"
"Yay!"
Chapter 125, Section 124: The Secret Between Mother and Daughter (4K)
Outside the Hakodate Civic Center.
The sunlight streaming down from above blended seamlessly with Saito Harukori's brown hair.
She wore a light blue off-the-arm top and a long skirt with gray floral print. A dark brown belt tightly cinched her slender waist, making her breasts appear even rounder and fuller.
"Do you want to stay and listen to the others?" Saito Harutori asked as Nagase Tsukiyo came out.
Nagase Tsukiyo breathed heavily, trying to calm herself down.
"No need, I'm a bit too excited and I don't feel at ease staying here any longer."
“Hmm—” Saito Harutori’s brow furrowed, and she gripped her shoulder bag tighter, saying, “What do you mean by ‘excited’?”
"It didn't mean anything else, I was just excited."
Listening to her explanation, Saito Harutori gazed thoughtfully at the hall and said:
"Will this excitement make you want to rejoin the club, Moonlight?"
Nagase Tsukiyo's expression softened, and she said softly:
"Seeing everyone working so hard makes me very happy. I really want to stand on the stage with everyone again, but that's probably impossible."
“Ha,” Saito Harutori said dismissively, her eyes wide. “Your lingering attachment, Tsukiyo, won’t be well-received.”
Nagase Tsukiyo's eyebrows twitched slightly:
"I just don't want to hear you say that. We came together, but you didn't even dare to go and congratulate me."
Saito Haruka tightened her grip on the shoulder strap, her fingernails leaving crescent-shaped marks on it:
"Let's go get something to drink, it's on you."
"why?"
"I've been treating the band members to water these past few days, and I'm almost out of money I've been saving."
"I have to do all these things myself again," Nagase Tsukiyo said, looking at her retreating figure with a hint of exasperation.
The two went to their usual dessert shop and found a seat in the window.
Earl Grey tea.
Ceylon black tea.
Outside the window, you can see many school-rented buses and schoolgirls in uniforms playing around on the street after the competition.
Saito Harutori sat with her back to the warm sunlight; the Hokkaido sun wasn't harsh at all, but rather quite warm.
"What are you going to do with Yuka?"
Nagase Tsukiyo gracefully lifted the teacup with her fingers, smelled it, took a small sip, her eyes lit up, and she murmured, "Delicious."
Saito Harutori met her gaze, remained silent for a moment, and then said:
"I want to get back together with her."
"Is it possible? You're treating her like this." Nagase Tsukiyo sighed softly.
Saito Haruki didn't speak, but simply drank his black tea quietly.
"Do you want to come with me to the Daoxin Fireworks Festival?" she suddenly asked.
Nagase Tsukiyomi watched for a while. The Doshin Fireworks Festival started on August 2nd and was part of the Hakodate Port Festival.
The best viewpoint will be at the top of Mount Hakodate, where the city's night view and fireworks will complement each other, creating a beautiful scene of light and sea.
The port festival is the liveliest time of the summer in Hakodate.
"You're two-faced, a liar, and full of malice. You actually think I'd want to go out with you?"
Nagase Tsukiyo took a sip of black tea, her face cool and aloof.
Saito Haruka frowned on her left brow and said in a low voice:
"laugh at me?"
