Chapter 21 Lockdown of Salukamai, Extreme Escape
Chapter 21 Lockdown of Salukamai, Extreme Escape
The ominous premonition grew stronger, and Lance pulled back his apprentice braid and rushed into the living room:
"Hurry, the Empire has discovered us."
Before he finished speaking, he had already picked up Gu Gu, grabbed the package, and rushed out the door.
The members of the Extraordinary Squad were taken aback and immediately stopped what they were doing.
They were all experienced warriors who had fought alongside the Jedi on the battlefield and knew that the Jedi possessed the ability to sense danger.
"Put your things down and follow immediately."
The hunter made a quick decision and ordered everyone to abandon the unpacked supplies.
Without hesitation, the group obeyed and rushed toward the shuttle.
Omega, clutching a bag of fruit, asked reluctantly:
What should we do with all this stuff we bought?
"Just buy another one."
The hunter hoisted Omega onto his shoulder and quickened his pace to catch up with his teammates.
The Omega on his shoulder looked completely bewildered, not reacting at all.
A moment later, everyone boarded the shuttle.
The engine started, the shuttle slowly rose into the air, and its wings unfolded.
The thrusters suddenly spewed out several plumes of flame, shooting straight into the sky.
The next moment, a series of notification sounds rang out on the communicator.
The technician quickly checked.
"The Empire has blockaded the entire planet Salukama, prohibiting any ships from leaving."
The hunter piloted the shuttle, his eyes fixed on the road ahead:
"Then let's rush out now."
"If the Empire finds out, we'll be in big trouble."
Just as he was speaking, the detector sounded an urgent alarm, and four or five red triangle icons were rapidly approaching.
Communication channels were forcibly accessed:
"Unidentified spacecraft. Reduce speed immediately and submit to Imperial inspection."
"otherwise......"
Before I could finish speaking, the technician abruptly hung up on me.
The next moment, several bursts of energy flew at high speed and struck the spaceship's deflector shield.
The spaceship shuddered slightly.
The hunter hurriedly shouted:
"Trouble is brewing, Clearing King, take them down."
"Haha! Got it!"
Clearance King immediately went to the tail of the plane, gripped the control stick tightly with both hands, his face full of excitement, and there was not a trace of fear in his eyes.
He aimed at an Alfa-V wing fighter jet and suddenly pressed the two red buttons on the control stick.
The machine gun fired several bursts of energy, hitting their targets precisely.
boom.
A fireball erupted in the air, followed by a loud explosion.
The wreckage of the enemy plane, trailing flames, plummeted rapidly.
Several nearby fighter jets quickly distanced themselves to avoid the flying metal fragments.
"Yay!"
Clearing King shouted excitedly and strafed the remaining enemy planes.
The shuttle quickly passed through the clouds and was breaking through the atmosphere.
Lance stood to the side and rear of the cockpit, his eyelids slightly lowered, sensing the fluctuations of the Force.
If it were just a few enemy planes chasing him from behind, it wouldn't be enough to make him feel dangerous.
Suddenly, he opened his eyes wide:
There's something ahead.
Almost at the same instant, a huge shadow suddenly appeared in the void.
The Cheerleader-class cruisers are over 700 meters long.
The ship's hull slowly unfolded.
Immediately afterwards, more than a dozen ARC-170 attack and reconnaissance fighter jets swarmed out like bees.
The burst of energy tore through the sky.
The hunters used all their might to maneuver the shuttle to evade.
However, there were too many enemy aircraft, and their firepower was too dense, so it was ultimately impossible to evade them all.
In just a few seconds, the shuttle was hit more than ten times.
The deflector shield generator emitted a low, mournful wail, clearly nearing its limit.
"Front shield is less than 20%."
The echoing sound reverberated inside the cabin. He rapidly manipulated his hands, continuously redirecting the tail energy forward to maintain defense.
"If it gets hit four more times, the shield will completely collapse."
The atmosphere was tense, but no one panicked.
This was not the first time they had experienced such a life-or-death crisis.
"Hunter, should we return to the surface?"
The technician shouted loudly as he operated the front-end machine gun to fire.
However, both sides were flying too fast, and enemy planes often only flashed by, making it extremely difficult to hit their targets.
The hunter's expression was solemn.
If they were shot down in mid-air, no matter how skilled they were, they were still just flesh and blood, with absolutely no chance of survival.
On the ground, at least they can use the complex terrain to fight the enemy and try to survive.
Just as he was about to speak, a calm voice rang out from inside the cabin:
"let me."
The technician turned around abruptly, looked at Lance, and gave up the control position without hesitation.
He had secretly checked the information and found that this young Jedi had an impressive resume and had made many meritorious contributions on the battlefield.
At this moment, for some reason, Lance gave him an almost instinctive sense of trust.
Lance gripped the joystick, held his breath, and focused his mind on the Force.
In an instant, time and space seemed to slow down.
The enemy planes that flew by at high speed became clear and slowed down in his perception.
A few fighter jets had just appeared in front of us; at first glance, they looked as small as soybeans.
He had already pulled the trigger.
Several bursts of energy were fired from the gun barrel in succession, all of which hit their targets precisely.
Flames burst forth one after another.
The enemy plane exploded into pieces in mid-air and fell to the ground trailing flames.
Immediately afterwards, another group of enemy planes attacked.
None escaped unscathed.
Clearing King stared at the rapidly disappearing icon on the radar, and couldn't help but grin and mutter under his breath:
"This is outrageous..."
The technician adjusted his glasses, his gaze sweeping back and forth between Radar and Lance, his voice unusually tinged with emotion:
"Hitting accuracy...100%?"
Echo's hands didn't stop moving; he shouted excitedly:
Keep it up, we have hope.
Amidst his busy work, the hunter glanced at Lance beside him, whose expression remained impassive, and a look of shock flashed in his eyes.
At one point, that exhilarating feeling of fighting alongside Jedi surged back into my heart.
Omega sat in the cabin seat, holding Gugu in her arms.
She was unaware of what had happened, but she vaguely felt the darkness that had enveloped her heart dissipate in an instant.
......
On the other side...
"I've been hit... ah..."
On the cruiser's bridge, screams could be heard continuously through the communicator.
A chill ran through the captain, who felt his heart pound.
In just a few seconds, nearly half of the dispatched fighter jets were lost.
He swallowed hard, his eyes filled with disbelief.
Is this attack... really coming from a modified shuttle?
If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he would have thought he was facing a full-strength team.
The adjutant looked at him and asked softly:
"Captain, what should we do?"
The captain dared not turn around, afraid that his subordinates would see his panic.
He coughed lightly and gave the order in a deep voice:
"Send out all fighter jets."
"All naval guns lock onto the target and fire freely."
......
Lance cleared the airspace ahead, and the shuttle finally broke through the atmosphere.
The group secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
But before they could even celebrate, a bucket of cold water was poured over them.
Ahead, a dozen more ARC-170 fighter jets appeared.
The gun turrets on the cruiser lit up in unison.
The next instant, a dense barrage of heavy energy bursts poured down.
boom.
The shuttle couldn't dodge in time and took a heavy hit.
The fuselage shook violently, sparks flew from the control panel, and a wisp of black smoke rose into the air.
"Shield only at 3%!"
With just one strike, it instantly depleted 10% of the shield value.
"One more time, and we're all going to die here today."
Echo roared, his hands almost becoming a blur.
It quickly and precisely distributes every bit of energy of the shield, without wasting a single drop, yet it is still far from enough.
The technician quickly lifted the maintenance panel below and began emergency repairs.
At the brink of life and death.
Lance's Force perception reached its limit, and a faint light appeared in his eyes.
He saw a "crack" in the Force, a fleeting path to survival.
"Prepare to initiate hyperspace jump."
The hunter was, after all, a battle-hardened soldier with a deep understanding of the Jedi.
In critical moments, orders are executed without hesitation.
He had one hand on the lever, waiting for the order to be given.
Lance shot down several fighter jets ahead, instantly tearing a gap in the blockade.
"Now!"
The hunter slammed the lever all the way down.
The hyperspace engine emitted a deep hum.
next moment.
The starry sky suddenly stretched out, transforming into countless streams of light.
The shuttle suddenly jolted and disappeared into the void.
