Chapter 18 Gwen's Spider-Man, Here He Appears!
Chapter 18 Gwen's Spider-Man, Here He Appears!
"Oops!"
Suddenly, Mark exclaimed and turned around to look for Peter Parker.
Finally, at the edge of the botanical garden, he found Peter and the others, who looked very nervous.
"Child, how are you?"
Ben Parker and May breathed a sigh of relief when Mark arrived.
Peter, however, didn't seem to care much.
After all, he had personally witnessed Spider-Man crushing the Lizard.
This accident was just a minor problem for Mark.
So Peter wasn't worried at all.
Mark kept his distance from Peter, scrutinizing him with suspicion.
"How are you?" he asked in a strange tone.
Anyone who's played Venom knows that his favorite character is Spider-Man.
"I?"
Peter scratched his head. "What should I do?"
"Did you see the black guy?" Mark asked.
Peter shook his head, then looked at Ben Parker and Aunt May.
"I didn't see it, did you?"
Both of them shook their heads.
"Apart from Professor Kurt, who's already green, I haven't seen anything black," Ben Parker said worriedly.
Mei asked Mark nervously, "Son, what exactly are you trying to say?"
Mark thought for a moment, "It's nothing, just a small problem, but it's not a problem yet."
He glanced at the patrolmen who were quickly arriving and said to the three of them:
"We have to go back, or we'll really get fined."
"Yes, yes, let's go home, let's go home."
Peter took the lead and went to the front.
Mark and the others soon drove away.
Back home, Ben Parker looked at Mark, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back.
Mei, standing to the side, noticed her husband's confusion.
However, Mark didn't bring it up, and they didn't ask.
The two speculated that it might be related to their experience in the mental hospital.
As for Peter, since today's outdoor barbecue was interrupted, he planned to go to the school library to read.
But Mark's gaze always made him feel uneasy.
"What are you trying to say?" Peter felt extremely uncomfortable.
Mark shook his head. "It's nothing."
Professor Kurt failed to force this guy to reveal his superpowers this time; it seems Peter didn't bring his suit today.
But running away immediately would be a big mistake.
Does this guy really think I can deal with lizardmen?
Yes, that should be the case.
I should have known better than to reveal the Witcher's abilities.
Thinking about this, Mark felt a pang of regret.
However, it's worth it if it helps Peter hide his identity.
It would be very troublesome if those secret agents found out about this.
But just as Peter was about to leave, something suddenly occurred to him.
"By the way, Mark, Gwen's birthday is in a couple of days. Now that you're not sick anymore, remember to get her a birthday present."
"Gift?"
Mark was somewhat helpless.
The hundred yuan I earned last night is gone today.
Preparing gifts costs money.
Forget it, I'll work a little harder tonight and earn another hundred bucks!
-
Night falls.
Imperial University, Dance Studio.
Gwen, who had just finished dance practice, walked alone on the campus path with her bag on her back.
Her car was still at the school gate.
Under the streetlights, Gwen's shadow gradually lengthened.
"Splash!"
Suddenly, the roadside grass swayed.
Hearing the noise, Gwen stopped and turned around.
It was pitch black, and she didn't find anything strange.
It must be a stray cat on campus.
That's what she was thinking.
Unbeknownst to her, a dark shadow merged into her own.
Soon, she arrived at the school gate and opened the car door.
"Beep beep~"
As the car alarm sounded, Gwen felt an invisible hand suddenly envelop her face.
Consciousness briefly disappeared.
The next second, she came to her senses and looked at herself reflected in the car window with a puzzled expression.
"That's strange, what just happened?"
She scratched the back of her neck but found no trace of black liquid seeping into her skin.
Hey, Gwen.
Just then, a familiar voice called out to her.
Gwen turned around and saw Peter jogging towards her.
"I happened to be at the library, I didn't expect to run into you."
Peter glanced at the time. "Could you give me a ride?"
"Of course," Gwen laughed.
As Peter got into the passenger seat, Gwen started the car.
"Boom!"
The sports car roared out of the campus.
The car was very quiet.
Peter felt it was necessary to have a chat, otherwise the atmosphere would be a bit dull.
"Your birthday is coming up soon, what gift do you want?" he asked.
Gwen chuckled. "Peter, gifts represent surprises. Who asks that?"
Peter smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, I'm not good at creating surprises."
But Mark should understand, after all, he learned quite a few skills in the mental hospital.
"Studying in a mental hospital?"
Gwen was somewhat surprised, but the mention of Mark stirred a sudden ripple in her calm heart.
For some reason, she felt that something was wrong with her emotions.
But I don't know why this is happening.
So she blurted out a sentence.
"Go back and tell Mark that if there's no surprise, I'll bite his head off."
His calm words revealed a complex mix of ruthlessness and resentment.
This startled Peter.
This tone doesn't sound like a joke.
"Gwen, you..." Peter looked at Gwen in disbelief.
Gwen seemed to realize that she might have gotten too excited.
"Sorry, I was just kidding." She felt ashamed of what she had just said.
This joke went a bit too far.
Even Professor Kurt, who had become a monster, couldn't say such a thing.
Peter took a deep breath. "It's okay. You're probably just too tired. Go home and get some rest."
"Yes, you too."
The car fell silent once again.
Finally, the sports car drove onto Black Street.
When Peter got home, the first thing he did was go to Mark's room.
Sure enough, Mark ran out again.
Peter had no choice but to put the medicine he had just bought into the drawer.
As for Gwen, after driving home, she felt inexplicably irritable and took a cold shower.
It seemed that doing this would bring her back to her senses.
She finally fell asleep after taking a sleeping pill tonight.
In her sleep, she was plunged into darkness.
In the darkness, a black spider gradually emerged.
Meanwhile, she lay in bed with her brows furrowed.
A black liquid began to seep from her skin.
The black liquid quickly covered his entire body, and spiderweb-like patterns spread from there.
This is the power of Spider-Man.
It can replicate some of the abilities of its former host.
No~
Suddenly, Gwen began to struggle, and the black on her shoulders and arms faded, replaced by white and pink.
The demonic face that was about to take over the head also twisted, eventually turning into a white spider mask and a pink-on-white hood.
"Buzz~"
The inverted triangular eyes glowed with white light, and pink spread around the edges, as if this could envelop the most important light deep within the heart.
"Oh my god, this woman is in contact with him."
The black liquid peered into Gwen's memories, then gathered on her shoulder, extending into a demonic face.
Its fangs were menacing, its long tongue licked the corners of its mouth, and its face was full of surprise.
Using the woman's identity, it believed it could get close to the strong man.
He is the perfect host.
From the moment it became a parasite on that man, it became hopelessly infatuated with his body.
I must have him!
