"The Flying Swallow is still on Loga's warship!"
(Sadly, I forgot to post one chapter...)
(Tiga Starlight, similar in concept to Shining Hinata, but with less stringent activation requirements, making it a permanent form.)
(A pen-wielding scoundrel, all talk and no action, but no real good.)
(The Optimal Reproduction Beam, the Emerim Reproduction Beam, I found these by looking through the skill list. The Optimal Reproduction is the combined attack beam of the Ultra Brothers in the Ultra 8 movie.)
Chapter 158 Extra: From the Abyss?
The Abyss.
1900 years ago, humans discovered a huge longitudinal cave.
The cave contains various ecosystems and monsters, as well as relics with unique functions.
It is not an ordinary cave, but a space with its own unique physical laws and biological development.
The most famous of these is the "curse of ascent" (ascent load).
Those who climb upwards from the depths of the abyss will suffer a terrible, even fatal, curse.
The deeper the speed, the heavier the curse.
This makes returning to the surface a pipe dream, while descending is a one-way street.
But drawn by the powerful relics and driven by an innate curiosity about the unknown, a large number of cave explorers emerged among humanity, venturing into the abyss.
The Abyss is divided into multiple levels.
First level: Abyss of Abyss, the rising load causes mild dizziness.
Second level: Forest of Temptation, the increased burden is severe vomiting and headache.
The third layer: a major rupture, where the upper body experiences dizziness and hallucinations due to the load.
Fourth layer: The Giant's Embrace, where the increased load is all about excruciating pain and bleeding.
Fifth level: Sea of the Dead, the rising burden is loss of consciousness and bleeding from the whole body.
Sixth level: The City of No Return, where the burden of rising is the loss of humanity or death.
The seventh level: The ultimate calamity. Everything here is unknown, and it is said that the ascent load here is "absolutely fatal."
And in the fifth layer, the Sea of the Dead.
A cave explorer named [Dawn Lord] Bordor, or rather a scientist, established an experimental base on the fifth level.
This is an evil scientist with an ultimate goal: to find a way to resist or adapt to "increasing load".
His experimental principle was that by using the curse-bearing platform, the "increasing load" borne by multiple people could be concentrated on one person.
The chosen one will bear all the curses, while the others will be unharmed.
So, in order to conduct the experiment, Bordor sought out a large number of children as subjects.
But experiments have their successes and failures.
Therefore, in such experiments, a large number of children died while enduring the pain of increasing workload, or were transformed into monsters.
This was an inhumane experiment.
Regardless of Bordor's motives, his use of children as experimental subjects and his wanton trampling on life cannot absolve him of his sins.
Nanachi is an ordinary girl who lives in a slum.
However, she was very studious and aspired to become a cave explorer.
One day, Portoldo came to the surface of the earth.
He is the legendary cave explorer Li Mingqing, with a refined appearance and charming speech. He claims to lead the children to a bright future and to seek the truth in the abyss.
So Nanachi accepted Portoldo's invitation, and together with the other children, they went into the abyss with hope.
On her way to the fifth level of the abyss, Nanachi met a lively girl.
"Hey, look up at the sky! There's a white bird flying among the stars!"
This lively girl is named Mitty.
On the carriage, there was a large group of children. When they heard Mitty's words, they all looked up at the sky.
Sure enough, among the stars, everyone saw a white bird soaring.
Wow, there really is a white bird!
The children watched the white birds in the sky with curiosity, because they were about to descend into the abyss and might never see the stars again.
Nanachi also looked up at the sky. She did see a white star flash by, but she knew that no bird could possibly fly as high as a star.
So Nanachi explained, "That's not a bird, it's just a shooting star... or maybe a comet."
"Huh? How do you know all this?"
When Mitty heard Nanachi say that, she curiously came over to ask.
"Of course! I learned it from the book."
Nana scratched her head. Actually, she wasn't sure what that thing in the sky was. Maybe it was a shooting star, or maybe a comet.
Although she loved reading, she was, after all, a child from the slums, and there weren't many books available to her, so she only knew a little about things like astronomy.
But the fact that Nanachi had read the book was truly remarkable for Mitty!
"Wow, you've actually been to school? That's amazing! I don't even know how to read, hehe."
"Actually... I'm not that great, I've just read a little bit of books, just a little bit..."
Nanachi was a little overwhelmed by Mitty's enthusiasm.
"But you're still amazing. You actually know about things in the heavens, so you must know about things in the abyss too, right?"
"Well... I know a little bit about it, because I also really like the Abyss and want to become a cave explorer."
"Really? My dream is to become a cave explorer too! I want to be a White Flute cave explorer!"
White Flute Cave Explorers is a category of cave explorers.
Among them, the White Flute Cave Explorers are the most skilled and have the most renowned reputation.
After all, these white flutes are known as the legendary cave explorers.
"Um, my name is Mitty. From now on, we'll be partners exploring the abyss together, so please take care of me!"
"Hello Mitty... My name is Nanachi, nice to meet you."
Nanachi's hands were grabbed by Mitty, who gave her a warm hug.
"In that case... Nanachi, you'll be my strategist from now on!"
"Huh? The strategist?"
"Yes, strategist, because Nanachi is very smart, so she can be my strategist and lead me to explore the abyss. As for me... I'll use my power to protect Nanachi! What do you say?"
"Okay...okay! I will try my best to understand the Abyss and become a qualified strategist!"
And so, the two little girls became good friends.
Their carriage had reached the entrance to the abyss.
Afterwards, they will travel through a vertical passage to the fifth level of the Abyss.
As she embarked on her journey to the abyss, Mitty looked up at the stars one last time.
"We might never see the stars again, so take a good look at them, Nanachi!"
The two little girls looked up together, gazing at the beautiful stars.
Why do those stars twinkle and shine?
And this was Miti asking Nanachi again.
"Nanachi, are there really no white birds on the stars?"
"Huh? There really aren't any. How could there be birds on the stars? What kind of bird could fly that high?"
"But Nanachi, look over there!"
Mitty pointed in a direction in the sky.
So Nanachi also looked in that direction.
She saw it—she saw a white bird soaring among the stars.
And beside the white bird, there were countless glittering golden stars.
"Sigh... Are there really white birds flying with the stars in the sky?"
Nana stared blankly at the white bird and said this.
Chapter 159 Extra: The White Bird from the Stars! Searching for the Children's Planet!
What exactly is the abyss?
Nobody knows.
But perhaps, just like its name suggests, this place is an abyss.
Nanachi, Mitty, and a large number of children arrived at the fifth level of the abyss, at the base of Portoldo.
But the romantic and exciting adventure that the children had imagined did not happen.
They were forbidden by Portoldo to leave the base and were forced to live within it.
Nanachi wondered if Podoldo thought everyone was too young and needed to grow up before they could go on adventures.
Regardless, within the base, she began learning more about the Abyss with her friend Mitty.
Of course, I'll also take the opportunity to look up information about the white bird in the sky.
There is a lot of information about the Abyss, but Shiratori... she couldn't find any information.
Perhaps... it really was just a shooting star.
