Chapter 102: The Solution – The Super Evolution Murder Case

Leaving aside the insidious schemes of the blonde champion and the unfortunate fate that the Great Leaf King is about to face.

As Hugo casually handed the six Poké Balls he was carrying to the Team Aqua members, the countdown to a reversal of fortunes on the whaling ship at sea had already begun.

This is why Chimchar and Piplup have relaxed smiles on their faces!

Seeing that the situation was not good, the three henchmen at the other end of the room planned to threaten the two hostages, Naoki and Hugo, with daggers.

With a clatter, three daggers fell to the ground simultaneously. Roseradore placed her bouquet-shaped hand to her mouth, striking a cool pose as if blowing a gun, and even winked at Hugo.

Having just escaped being held hostage, the detective wanted to shout to alert Golduck to the presence of reinforcements. However, before he could even speak, he heard the booming sound of drums all around him.

So that's how it is. The sea hare immediately used "Primal Power." This pink slug with a shell on its back summoned the projection of ancient rocks and carried out a massive, cataclysmic sweep of every corner of the captain's cabin.

After the cleanup was over, a stunned Golduck rolled out of an empty beer barrel in the corner of the room. It looked incredibly disheveled, and its eyes had turned into mosquito coils.

The balance of power shifted in an instant.

Fleet Aqua was wiped out.

"This murder case isn't complicated, because the Aqua team, who are the killers, are about to leave Unova and wouldn't bother hiding the victim's or their whereabouts. It's also easy to guess that the cause of death was being silenced for witnessing a smuggling operation, since the crime scene was a deserted beach. The real key question is the true identities of these smugglers and the details of their operation that they would go to such lengths to cover up, even if it meant killing someone."

Outside the porthole, the battered Wailord was driven to the vicinity of the whaling ship by Ditto, while the Pokémon that had been launched by Old Man Doug returned to the whaling ship one by one.

As darkness fell, Hugo stood on the deck with his hands on his hips, smugly explaining how the incident had been resolved.

Not far away, old man Doug used heavy hemp rope to tightly bind the four captured Team Aqua members together; Azure, along with Garchomp and the others, dealt with the Pokémon under Team Aqua's command, many of which were Water-type Pokémon that had been forced to join Team Aqua, and Azure released them on the spot; old man Naoki, because his throat had been scraped earlier, claimed to have suffered a heavy mental blow and was now pretending to be sick and slacking off.

"Poga Poga," the little penguin interjected, pointing with its tiny fin to the darkening sky as dusk approached.

"That's right." Hugo patted Pogaman's head—

"I immediately investigated the newspapers that first reported the president's trip abroad and found that these newspapers had a common large investor. When I discovered this, I realized that the news of the 'president's trip abroad' was likely a huge lie."

Hugo rubbed his nose: "The rest of the investigation went smoothly—contacting Iron Whirlwind, finding out the true location of President Zvoich; deducing from his style and behavior that the smugglers belonged to the Hoenn region's Fleet Aqua. Then, I realized the Fleet Aqua's true purpose in coming to Unova."

"What's the purpose?" A clear, curious voice rang out. It turned out that Azure had finished her work and come over to pay attention to the detective's reasoning.

"There were three people who came to Unova by boat disguised as the president, and one person who came to pick up their teammates in Wailord. We've now captured four people and a Wailord used as transportation. Azure, can you figure anything out?"

"Uh... one plus three equals four?"

The girl didn't understand what Hugo was talking about, so she just made up an answer.

Not only Hugo, but even Piplup and Chimchar shook their heads repeatedly this time.

The detective in the white coat couldn't help but reveal the answer—

"The problem isn't the number of people! The real issue is the ship! That imposter President Zvoich came to Unova on that giant cruise ship! In the blink of an eye, that superyacht mysteriously disappeared!"
