Chapter 106 New Schemes
Chapter 106 New Schemes
Kaido responded and sat down in the main seat, not caring about the maid who was still being restrained. The light in the maid's eyes gradually faded. This Lord Doflamingo had an unpredictable personality. Every time a maid came to serve him, she would never come out again after entering the room. Every time they cleaned up afterwards, the cruel and bloody scenes made her almost vomit. When she learned that she was the one who had been chosen to serve him this time, she knew that she would not survive. Lord Kaido would not make an enemy of a powerful partner for the sake of a mere maid like her.
Seeing the despair in the maid's eyes, Doflamingo felt a surge of excitement. The threads binding the maid tightened with Doflamingo's fluctuating emotions. The maid wanted to beg for mercy, but she was struggling to breathe and had no strength to make a sound. Her limbs were restrained and she was completely unable to move.
Seeing that the maid was about to faint, Doflamingo immediately stopped using his strength. He was in a good mood today and had no interest in killing anyone. When he arrived on the island, he saw something that interested him much more.
Kaido didn't stop Doflamingo's perverse pleasure, sitting aside and watching everything indifferently. Just like the maid thought, Kaido wasn't going to offend a powerful partner for the sake of a maid who had no use to him. Kaido didn't speak, and Doflamingo wasn't in a hurry to say what his purpose was today. Instead, he gently patted the maid's face, his fingers sliding from her ear to her cheek like a guillotine, sending chills down the maid's spine.
As if on purpose, the moment Doflamingo withdrew the threads, the sharp threads drew a cut on the maid's face. The maid shuddered in pain, but she forced herself to suppress a scream, afraid that the man in front of her might kill her if he was unhappy. She just wanted to live. As long as she could live, what did it matter if she was as insignificant as dust?
Fresh blood slowly flowed from the wound, staining his fair face red and dripping onto his grass-green kimono. The smell of blood made Doflamingo's eyes reveal pleasure, and his voice carried a hint of teasing sarcasm, much like giving someone a sweet treat after a beating.
"It's such a pity that such a cute face is scratched. I hope it will be back to normal by the time you come next time."
Doflamingo said nothing more, as if he had had his fill of fun. He waved his hand dismissively, signaling the maid to leave. The maid felt as if she had been granted a pardon. Even though her limbs, which had been restrained for so long, were weak, her survival instincts kicked in, and she stumbled out of the room, enduring her helplessness. She simply couldn't believe it. Had she really survived? She had actually survived the clutches of that ruthless Doflamingo.
The maid was excited about her survival, but she ignored Doflamingo's words about seeing him again next time.
Watching the maid flee at top speed, Kaido raised an eyebrow at Doflamingo. When had Doflamingo ever failed to kill one or two people? Had he changed his ways this time? Or...? A deeper meaning flashed in Kaido's eyes.
"It's rare to see no blood today, how unusual. Have you taken a fancy to this woman?"
"Fufufufu, but I saw something more interesting today, so it's nice to stay in a clean place occasionally."
"There aren't many things that can interest you, but I'd really like to see them. However, now is not the time to talk about that. So, what brings you here today?"
"The World Government plans to gather a group of strong pirates to re-establish the Seven Warlords of the Sea. As for their purpose, I believe I don't need to elaborate."
Doflamingo crossed his legs, toying with a delicate teacup in his hand. Kaido frowned slightly upon hearing Doflamingo's words. He knew that the World Government had recently made some big moves, but he had been living in seclusion in Wano Country for many years and did not go out. His intelligence network was far less extensive than Doflamingo's, and the information he could obtain was quite limited.
The Seven Warlords of the Sea? It's still the same draft from years ago. Using pirates to fight pirates? The World Government really thinks a bunch of weak pirates can restrain him? What a joke! He's one of the Emperors of the Sea. How can a bunch of weak pirates possibly restrain him? The World Government might as well try to recruit that old guy Whitebeard. Maybe that would be more feasible.
"So, you're planning to stop it?"
"No, no, no, not only should we not stop it, we must support it. This is an opportunity to obtain more experimental materials. If we become a Shichibukai, then the Navy will no longer interfere with the later experiments."
After all that's been said, even a fool would understand, let alone Kaido, who isn't a fool. Kaido stared sharply at Doflamingo, who maintained a nonchalant smile, making it impossible to guess what he was thinking.
"So you're planning to join the Seven Warlords of the Sea? I doubt those people will agree so easily."
Kaido knows that Tsuru in One Piece has been chasing Doflamingo for a long time. Becoming a Shichibukai means that he will have to obey the World Government's orders and cooperate with the Navy. Doflamingo cooperating with the Navy? Ha, those Navy guys should be sold out and still counting money for him.
"Fufufufu, so I need your help."
Doflamingo's smile only made one feel like a puppet being controlled. Kaido, however, raised an eyebrow with interest, ready to continue listening. After all, this matter could bring him considerable benefits. His cooperation with Doflamingo needed to be further expanded. As for the Jasmine that had recently risen to prominence on the sea, he still hadn't been able to find out who was behind it. Every time he investigated, he was obstructed by various forces, which really annoyed him.
"I need you to make some noise at sea, and I'll take care of everything else."
"You can find someone to do this yourself."
"The commotion of ordinary pirates is not enough to attract the attention of the Navy's high command. Moreover, I heard that Sengoku has created a new position. The newly appointed Navy Admiral's assistant is a beauty who is comparable to that of the Empress and is deeply trusted by several Navy Admirals. Most importantly, this woman is Garp's most beloved granddaughter. Tell me, if we capture her, what will the Navy do?"
Kaido had also heard about this, and it was impossible for him not to be interested. Garp's granddaughter, the granddaughter of a naval hero, was quite valuable. However, Garp had placed his granddaughter next to a naval admiral, and this woman rarely appeared in public. So far, there hadn't been a single photo of her in the news. If they could capture this woman in this operation, it would be a very meaningful disturbance.
"Ha, she's Garp's most beloved granddaughter. How can you guarantee that Garp will let her go to sea? Doflamingo, this kind of deal isn't worth it."
"Since I've said it, I naturally have a way to get the Admiral to take her with him when he comes out. As for how to capture her, that depends on whether your men have the ability. It's just capturing a woman who can't fight. Surely your men can manage that, Kaido?"
Doflamingo showed no fear of angering the Emperor of the Sea, speaking in a mocking tone as if trying to provoke Kaido. Kaido, however, simply poured himself a cup of tea and drank it down, completely unconcerned about Doflamingo's provocation.
"Okay, when do we start?"
"Fufufufu, I'll have someone notify you when the time comes."
The two talked for a while longer, until more than two hours later, when Doflamingo finally left. As soon as Doflamingo left, Kaido smashed the tea set in front of him with a punch, and his indifferent expression turned ruthless.
"Using me as a shield, Doflamingo really has a clever scheme."
"Lord Kaido, should we do as he says?"
A man wearing an iron helmet emerged from the shadows behind Kaido. The man was dressed in all black, with two skull patterns on his collar, black gloves, and no skin exposed. He had antique-looking ornaments hanging on his arms and legs, a long sword at his waist, and most peculiarly, flames burning on the back of his head and a pair of huge black wings on his back.
“Why not? Although she’s just a shield, if what Doflamingo said is true, that woman is Garp’s granddaughter, then capturing her would be a lot of leverage in negotiations with the Navy. You can go on this mission, King.”
"Yes, Lord Kaido."
King nodded slightly and stepped back. Kaido slowly closed his eyes, and the room fell into silence.
At the port of Onigashima, Doflamingo leisurely boarded his pirate ship, his interest growing stronger as he thought of the interesting little creature he had just met.
"Young Master, we've found out. The pirate crew that just fought Kaido was the Red-Haired Pirates." A servant approached Doflamingo and respectfully reported.
"Red-haired? Fufufufu, this is getting more and more interesting. A pirate crew that never shows its face has actually appeared. It seems that the world is about to change. This is really exciting. Will the world usher in a new era again? Fufufufu."
As a jumble of chaotic thoughts surfaced, a fleeting glimpse of those beautiful eyes suddenly flashed through Doflamingo's mind. He stopped laughing, a hint of excitement appearing in his eyes. He had witnessed most of the battle between Kaido and Shanks, and was initially interested in Shanks, but he had inadvertently caught a glimpse of a pair of beautiful eyes through a window on Shanks' ship.
Those eyes were so incredibly beautiful, so beautiful that one would want to gouge them out and preserve them, to gaze upon them at all times. Unfortunately, Doflamingo didn't have such a hobby. He was more curious about who the woman with those eyes was. Yes, although he only saw them for a moment, it was definitely a woman, and she must have been an extremely beautiful woman. He liked beautiful things, but things so beautiful that they made his heart tremble were rare. This was truly the first time he had felt the urge to snatch something away.
He had no shortage of women around him; if he wanted, he could send countless women to him every day, including many beauties. But when compared, Doflamingo found those women rather boring. He still wanted to see what a woman with those beautiful eyes looked like.
Doflamingo clutched his current spot, his heart pounding wildly, not with fear, but with excitement—the excitement of finding a treasure. He hadn't felt this excited in a long time. He was determined to have that woman. If he wanted something, he would get it, even if it meant resorting to any means necessary.
"Lord Doflamingo, this is a gift from Lord Kaido."
A voice came from behind, and a guard dragged the maid from before over. As they got closer, the guard shoved the maid forward.
"Lord Kaido said he has quite a few maids under his command. Since Lord Doflamingo likes this maid, let's take her with us."
The maid thought she was safe, but she never expected to be captured again. Now she was going to be handed over to this capricious demon. The maid shrank back and looked at Doflamingo in terror.
Doflamingo raised an eyebrow. Was this Kaido's response to his earlier provocation? An eerie silence fell over the room, and no one dared to breathe. Just as the guards heard their life countdown, Doflamingo finally spoke.
"Since it's a gift, then accept it."
Upon hearing that Doflamingo had agreed to accept the gift, the guard breathed a sigh of relief, bowed slightly, and returned to report. The maid, on the other hand, was taken onto the ship by Doflamingo's attendants.
"Let's go, I still need to find my beautiful gem."
"Yes."
Not paying much attention to the maid, Doflamingo's mind was now filled with those jewel-like eyes, as if sculpted from the sun. Should he build a golden cage for her? A beautiful canary needs a beautiful cage.
