Chapter 104 Human Awakening
Chapter 104 Human Awakening
"Itachi, I won't give you this painting; I'll keep it as a keepsake." Uchiha Ye was very satisfied with his own painting.
"Ye, you don't seem to have ever given me a painting!" Itachi felt a little aggrieved when he thought of this.
"Oh, is that so? What kind do you like? I'll draw one for you right now." Uchiha Ye thought about it and realized that there really was such a thing, so he said it somewhat embarrassedly.
“I like anything you draw.” Itachi Uchiha said directly.
"This skunk, why does she always talk like she's confessing her love? It's so easy to misunderstand. Luckily, she's clear-headed."
Uchiha Ye calmed himself down, holding a pen in his mouth as he pondered what to draw.
The more she thought about it, the less she could think of what to draw. Seeing Itachi's expectant look, she knew she couldn't just give up on the praise she had just given him.
Ultimately, she decided to use the location as a backdrop and paint the valley where she was now.
After finishing the drawing, Uchiha Ye felt something was missing, so he added another person, but it was just a back view.
After all, she didn't really like drawing herself; a back view would suffice. Besides, this was her appearance after growing up in the real world, so Itachi definitely wouldn't recognize her.
She actually wanted to sketch someone else's figure, but as she drew, it turned into herself, so she decided to leave it as it was.
"Ye, who's that person up there?" Itachi asked, taking the drawing.
"Oh, this is your future wife!" Uchiha Ye said without giving it much thought, his tone full of teasing.
As soon as she finished speaking, she regretted it. Her expression quickly returned to normal. She hadn't even painted her face yet, so why was she panicking?
Upon hearing this, Itachi's ears visibly turned red, and he carefully put the painting away.
"Ye, when you reach the right age, I will propose to you and marry you."
He only said this in his heart; before that, he needed to make Ye Xian his girlfriend.
It was getting late, so the two had a quick meal and then packed up their things to head to the camp.
"I knew you would be alright. This was my mistake. I didn't expect the Iwagakure side to arrive so quickly." There were some things Shikaku didn't say explicitly, as they would affect the personnel fighting in the war zone.
He hadn't expected Danzo's reach to extend so far, actually sending Root members to assassinate the two of them right under his nose. They were from the same village, yet they were excluded, and they even colluded with an enemy country. If word got out, what would others think?
Just because we are powerful, does that mean we have to be like this?
Sometimes he even felt that the Uchiha clan had become like this entirely because of the pressure from the village's higher-ups.
"Shikaku-senpai, don't blame yourself. We'll be more careful in the future," Uchiha Ha said, trying to comfort Shikaku who hadn't spoken for a while.
"Yes, I promise I won't let this happen again in the next mission."
"You all go and get some rest!"
"Alright, Senior Shikaku, we'll be leaving now."
As soon as Uchiha Hajime and Itachi stepped out of the main tent, they saw Kakashi leading his ANBU members in.
"It's so good that she's alright!"
"How did Kakashi end up here?"
The two exchanged a glance, then walked straight over without saying a word.
Uchiha Yoh still noticed the person behind Kakashi.
"How did Yamato end up in the Anbu?"
"Orochimaru-sensei hasn't defected yet, so do they still have their previous experiences?"
Uchiha Yoh was unaware that Yamato had been taken from Danzo by Sarutobi Hiruzen long ago, but she hadn't encountered him.
The plot seemed to have changed a lot, but she had a feeling that nothing had changed at all.
"If I work hard to become stronger, she won't believe me."
Itachi noticed Ye's high spirits and thought, "This incident must have spurred Ye on."
“Strength…” A red light flashed in Itachi’s eyes, then disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Three more months passed, during which they spent most of their time in the camp, except for some simple tasks.
Uchiha Ye was bored, so she set up a laboratory to make poisons and such, which was very well received. Itachi naturally assisted her.
"Ye, you seem to know everything!"
Even though they were the same age, he always felt that there was a huge gap between him and Ye.
"No way, I can't cook!" Uchiha Ye said with a hint of dissatisfaction. Suddenly, she remembered something and continued, "By the way, we've run out of ingredients. Let's go out and gather some. I know a place with lots of herbs."
"Herbal medicine?"
"Ye, are you planning to research a new poison again?" Itachi guessed.
Uchiha Ye stretched out his index finger and shook it from side to side, "No, this time I'm going to make 'soldier rations'!"
"Ah, this thing that goes into my mouth..." Itachi started to say, but then suddenly remembered something and shut his mouth in annoyance. He looked up and met Ye's angry little face. "I'll go get it myself!"
"Don't follow me!" Uchiha Ye turned around and spoke again.
"That stupid weasel, I told him not to follow, and he really didn't come."
"Now look what's happened, we can't find the place, and we're lost too." Uchiha Ye sat leaning against a tree, feeling extremely frustrated.
If we wait a while, we'll have to wait until night to use the 'Flying Thunder God Technique' back at camp. Leaving the Flying Thunder God mark in broad daylight could easily be seen by others.
It's better to play it safe. She doesn't want anyone to know that she's the one who sneaked into the 'Forbidden Arts Chamber' to steal the secret technique. But she still needs to find an opportunity to learn the 'Flying Thunder God Technique,' otherwise it's too troublesome to do it secretly every time.
Not long after Uchiha Yoru left, Itachi went to the place where he was gathering herbs, but he did not expect to find no one there. On his way to search, he was assassinated.
Just as Uchiha Ye was about to set up a swing party, she heard a noise behind her, turned around and saw Kakashi standing behind her. "Kakashi-senpai, how did you know I was here?"
Kakashi didn't answer, but asked calmly, "Are you lost?"
"No... I think the scenery here is nice, I'll stay a while." She would never admit to something so embarrassing.
"Sign your name here," Kakashi said, taking out a scroll.
"Huh, an autograph?" Uchiha Ye looked puzzled, but still obediently took out a pen.
"You must write your name in your own blood!" Kakashi explained.
Upon hearing that bloodletting was required, Uchiha Ye noticed the scroll. "Senior, I already have a summoning beast..."
"Sign it!" Kakashi said again.
"What's going on? Has Kakashi been possessed? He's so domineering!" Uchiha Ye was full of doubts, but she still didn't move her hand; she didn't want to get hurt at all.
She backed away, puzzled.
She had only taken two steps back when Kakashi grabbed her hand, and she hurriedly called out, "Senpai, wait a minute!"
"Will this work?"
Uchiha Ye took out a vial of blood, met Kakashi's questioning gaze, and continued, "This is blood I collected when I was injured. Can I use this?"
"Are you afraid of pain?" Kakashi asked, his tone a mixture of doubt and certainty.
"How could that be? I'm a ninja. I just wanted to reuse what I had, really."
The more she said that, the more Kakashi felt she was hiding something.
"Very good, we've discovered another secret of hers. I suppose that's why she learned medical ninjutsu."
