Chapter 146 The ship fell from the sky!
Picking up where we left off, the Straw Hat crew, having successfully escaped Gaspard's scheme, and with the new permanent compass given to them by the old man, finally found the true finish line of the race. So, they immediately prepared to set off towards the true finish line, Pardia...
Meanwhile, bounty hunter Shureia also learns another truth from the old man: the little girl who attacked the Straw Hat crew is actually his long-lost younger sister. Upon learning the truth, he and his sister fall into silence for a moment...
Goten then spoke to the two, saying, "You don't have much time to think. After all, once we reach our destination, you'll have to disembark. What the other pirates do then is none of our business, so you should carefully consider whether you want to live together again..."
Just as the Going Merry finally reached its destination and was about to reap the rewards of victory, the other naval fleets notified by the naval fortress happened to catch up with the Straw Hat crew. With no other choice, the Straw Hat crew had to abandon Shureia and her brother and the old man and flee for their lives...
Faced with the Straw Hat crew forced to flee by the Marines, Goten couldn't help but lament their miraculously impoverished fate. No sooner had he finished lamenting than Nami unleashed an angry punch, and as he turned, she scolded him, "Don't say such unlucky things!" Seeing this, Goten had no choice but to shut his mouth…
-
After finally escaping the Navy's pursuit, the Straw Hat crew enjoyed a rare period of leisure in the following days. Usopp took the opportunity to repair the Going Merry, Nami had time to concentrate on drawing nautical charts, and Sanji, as always, was busy preparing food for his crewmates.
Robin was still quietly reading by herself, Chopper was busy making and storing medicine, while Goten and Zoro were training. Goten had even made a special gravity suit for Zoro to train in. Zoro immediately felt a little strained after putting it on, and when Goten told him that his training suit was several times heavier than Zoro's current one, Zoro silently immersed himself in his training...
Everyone else seemed to have something to do, while Luffy could only sit idly on the bow of the Going Merry, constantly complaining, "So boring... so boring..." to pass the time...
The day passed in this way, and as evening fell, Luffy sat at the dinner table, eating while constantly asking Nami how long it would take to reach the next island. Although Nami repeatedly assured him that they would arrive soon, Luffy kept asking...
The next day, Luffy saw that everyone else had things to do, so he decided to join in. However, what happened was—he and Usopp repaired the ship but ended up making an even bigger hole; while looking at Nami's nautical chart, he accidentally spilled ink on it and got a beating from Nami; he went to Chopper's place and messed up the medicine Chopper had just divided, and was chased away; he looked at Robin's book, found he couldn't understand it, and wisely left…
Upon arriving at Zoro's location, Luffy found Goten and Zoro training. He eagerly clapped his hands, ready to join in, but the next second he completely messed up Zoro's training equipment. In the end, Luffy had no choice but to return to Sanji to wait for food, only to be told by Sanji that there was no more food and he would have to obediently go fishing...
Bored, Luffy waited with his fishing rod in hand. As he fished, his eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and he finally closed his eyes and fell asleep. When Sanji came out to check on him, he found that Luffy's fishing rod had vanished. After a loud shout, Luffy was awakened and was also surprised to find that his fishing rod had disappeared...
Just then, the others finished their tasks and came out to find Luffy being scolded by Sanji. As everyone watched the spectacle, a piece of wood suddenly fell from the sky and landed on the Going Merry, startling everyone. Looking up, they saw a huge ship falling from the sky, which terrified the Straw Hat crew...
Seeing this, Goten used a Rising Dragon Fist to break the falling ship in two, thus saving the Going Merry from disaster. After the ship sank to the bottom of the sea, Nami was surprised to find that the Log Pose was pointing to the sky. Nami immediately thought that the Log Pose was broken.
Robin, however, suggested, "Is it possible that the Log Pose isn't broken, but rather that the next island is in the sky, which is why the Log Pose is pointing upwards?"
Upon hearing this, Luffy immediately became excited, waving his arms and shouting, "What? An island in the sky? How interesting! How amazing! Let's go to the sky! Let's sail the ship up there!"
This statement was immediately met with a retort from Goten and Zoro: "That's impossible, don't be delusional..."
Upon hearing this, Luffy immediately said, "Goten, can't you fly? Why don't you just lift the Going Merry into the sky?"
Upon hearing this, Goten quickly waved his hand in opposition, retorting to Luffy, "You overestimate me. Besides, we don't even know the exact location of this island in the sky. How do you expect me to send the Going Merry up there?"
In order to find some clues, after some discussion, the group decided that Zoro, Sanji, and Goten would dive into the water to look for anything useful or clues in the damaged ship, while Luffy and the others would wait for news on the shore.
Goten, Zoro, and Sanji arrived at the bottom of the sea and had just made some progress after searching when their ship was suddenly grabbed by a giant claw. Then, air was injected into the ship through a pipe that extended down, and a man resembling an ape burst through the hull, charging towards the three. Seeing what they had just collected, he instantly flew into a rage, yelling that Goten and the others were not allowed to take his treasure, and attacked them…
Seeing this, Goten couldn't stand it any longer and was about to teach the other party a lesson on the spot. However, the changes didn't stop there; they continued to happen. Just as Goten and his two companions were about to fight the ape-man, everything went black, as if they had been swallowed by some giant creature...
To get back to the Going Merry, Goten had no choice but to use a Kamehameha to clear a path. As light appeared, Goten immediately led Sanji and Zoro, along with the collected items, out. Upon seeing the Going Merry, the three rushed back. Back on the ship, Luffy immediately shouted, "You guys weren't eaten by the giant turtle! That's great!"
Upon hearing this, Goten, Zoro, and Sanji turned around and realized why everything had gone black earlier. Without even a chance to ask how they were doing, the Straw Hat crew immediately began their escape. After finally getting out, they discovered that there was an ape-man on the ship. Goten, without hesitation, kicked him away...
