Chapter 172 Promotion
Chapter 172 Promotion
Chapter 172 Promotion (Part 1)
Around noon on Wednesday, two announcements were released on the company's internal platform.
The first item concerns the adjustments made to the company's senior executives and department directors.
Gu Shiming will succeed Xia Yuansheng, who is on sick leave, as the company's vice president; Yu Sheng will serve as the general manager of the Cognitive Research Center, and Fang Wei will serve as the general manager of the Technology Development Center.
The original technology development center's production base was separated and established as an equipment manufacturing center, with Zhao Wentao as its general manager.
The following is the list of adjustments at the director level: Yao Huafeng of Department 2, Luo Yu of Department 3, Chai Xinwei of Department 5, and Wang Kang of Department 6.
Many people in the company were unaware that Meng Haolin and Mu Wei had gotten into trouble, nor did they know that Xia Yuansheng had been on sick leave for a long time. Seeing so many people being reassigned all at once, they all felt a little strange.
There wasn't any major tremor, but I didn't feel anything.
The strangest thing is the last item on the list of director-level personnel adjustments.
The Cognitive Science and Engineering Project Department was established, with Wei Hongsi serving as the project manager.
Although the company's official documents do not distinguish between project managers and senior project managers and use the term "project manager" for both, their job levels are different, depending on whether they lead a project team or a project department.
The newly established project team should, in theory, be headed by a senior project manager at the W3 level.
However, job level adjustments at W3 and below are generally not announced. Even in special circumstances, a separate explanation is issued, and they are never announced together with those for director-level positions.
Could it be that the person in charge of this newly established engineering project department is a W4-level director-level project manager?
Although somewhat puzzled, most people didn't bother to investigate further. They only saw the announcement to find out if their department head had changed; they weren't particularly interested in matters outside their department.
Only those who worked on the RI1 and CDU projects know that everyone on the list who got promoted was a core technical member of the project team.
From this perspective, it is quite normal for Wei Hongsi, as a core member, to appear on the list.
Shortly after this announcement, the company's internal platform and Zhiwei Technology's official website simultaneously released the list of the new board members.
Chairman: Dai Songquan; Board Secretary: Wei Hongsi; Internal Directors: Ji Yongsheng, Gu Shiming, Qian Jiayu, Jiang Kai, Yu Sheng, Lin Fangzhe, Wu Wenjun, Fang Wei, Zhao Wentao; External Directors: Xia Yuansheng, Hua Hong, Liu Chengyi, Li Jianren. For the vast majority of employees, the board of directors has nothing to do with them. They are completely unaware of the existence of this organization in their daily work and simply glance at it and close the window.
Before closing the app, they lingered a little longer on Wei Hongsi's name. This was the project manager from the previous announcement; judging by that, he was probably the director?
However, those who know Wei Hongsi will inevitably have more to think about.
After reading the announcement, Li Xuan got up and went to Lu Jiaqi's office. She knocked twice on the door and then pushed it open, asking, "Sister Lu, have you seen the company's new announcement?"
"I'm not blind." Lu Jiaqi looked up from behind the monitor, rolled her eyes at Li Xuan, and said, "Why are you getting so worked up about this?"
"I'm not excited at all." Li Xuan closed the door and sat down opposite Lu Jiaqi. "That new board secretary, isn't that Engineer Wei?"
"How would I know?" Lu Jiaqi pursed her lips. "There might be more than one person in the company with that name."
"Huh?" Li Xuan's eyes widened. "You know other Wei Hongsis?"
Lu Jiaqi chuckled and waved her hand, saying, "Are you stupid? I was just teasing you!"
"Oh." Li Xuan nodded with a smile.
Lu Jiaqi looked at her and said, "Don't blame me for not reminding you, you can't call him Engineer Wei anymore when you see him in the future."
"I know, I know." Li Xuan nodded. "Just call him President Wei."
"Sigh." Lu Jiaqi sighed softly, "I should have sent you to his project department. It's a bit inappropriate to go now; it would seem like you're trying to curry favor."
"Huh?" Li Xuan's eyes widened. "Didn't you say it wouldn't be too late to go in the second half of the year?"
Lu Jiaqi said, "How was I supposed to know he'd jump so high? If I had known, I would have gone myself. Would you even have had a chance?"
Li Xuan laughed and said, "That's alright, anyway, we're still handling his public relations work, aren't we?"
Lu Jiaqi nodded: "That makes sense. In my opinion, his plans for the project team's future require someone to handle external liaison. Next time, we can ask him if he can just recruit our team."
Li Xuan asked, puzzled, "Do you think going to his project department is better than staying in Department Eight?"
Lu Jiaqi said, "At least it won't be worse. The project team can't possibly have more people than the Eighth Department, so if you do your work, the leaders will easily see it."
"Oh." Li Xuan nodded.
"Let's go, it's time to go downstairs for dinner," Lu Jiaqi said, picking up her phone.
The two left the office and took the elevator downstairs. As they exited the elevator, the doors of the elevator opposite them opened, and He Feng stepped out, meeting their gazes.
He Feng glanced at Lu Jiaqi only once before turning his gaze away, lowering his head, and hurriedly walking away.
Lu Jiaqi couldn't help but smile. It seemed He Feng had also studied the contents of the announcement; this time, he probably wouldn't dare to come to her again asking for help with the entrusted business.
Hearing Lu Jiaqi and Li Xuan talking and laughing from time to time, He Feng quickened his pace, almost catching up with the speed of a race walker.
He dared not turn around, feeling as if the two men were mocking him, and as if an iron brush was brushing against his back.
He did see the announcement, and he looked at it longer than anyone else. After opening it, he stared at it blankly until he heard someone outside say they were going to eat.
He turned off the monitor and fled the office as if escaping. The announcement was too jarring, piercing his restless resentment that had been building up for days.
Even if he overestimated himself, he wouldn't think that he could replace Wei Hongsi's name in the announcement.
He Feng walked toward the elevator with his head down, and when he got there, he ran into Yuan Zhenhui, who was waiting for the elevator.
Seeing Yuan Zhenhui talking to the person next to him with a smile on his face, He Feng suddenly felt that it might be better to stay in the office.
He deliberately lagged behind and waited for the next elevator, only to bump into Lu Jiaqi face to face as soon as he came out.
Why is it that the more you try to avoid someone, the more likely you are to run into them?
He Feng felt extremely irritated. He went into the restaurant, grabbed some food at random, and sat down in a corner to eat.
Amidst the clamor, he suddenly realized something.
He did miss a great opportunity, but his mistake wasn't in entrusting Lu Jiaqi's project to Wei Hongsi, but in that Wei Hongsi targeted him after joining his work group.
If I had gotten along well with Wei Hongsi from the beginning, things would probably be different now.
