It took a while for me to recover from my cough.
Kawasaki stood to the side with his arms crossed, watching.
"Master."
Sasuke was a little uneasy, wondering what his master would do (Linglong's evaluation 119).
Kawasaki thought about it and decided to be stricter.
Under Sasuke's uneasy gaze, Kawasaki's expression turned cold.
"This is absolutely terrible. Sasuke, is this all you've learned before? How did Itachi teach you? Did he play ninja games with you?"
"Who taught you to use Fire Release like that? What were you doing just now? Were you setting off Fire Release like fireworks?"
"I'm sorry, Master."
Sasuke lowered his head in frustration, though he did not expect to defeat his master.
But he at least hoped to gain his master's approval, but unexpectedly, his master criticized him to the point of being worthless.
Do you know where you went wrong?
Kawasaki asked.
Sasuke opened his mouth, but in the end he lowered his head.
Kawasaki glanced at Sasuke's expression but didn't rush to explain.
He first waved.
In the blink of an eye, a member of the Uchiha clan walked into the courtyard.
"Go, find a junior genin from our Uchiha clan, the younger the better."
Kawasaki gave the order.
"Ok."
Not long after, a short Uchiha genin arrived to report.
Judging from his appearance, he's a recent graduate from last year.
"What's your name? Are your eyes open?"
Kawasaki asked.
Although the information could be easily found in the family archives, there were so many Uchiha people that he didn't need to go through them.
The man calmly replied, "My name is Kota, and I haven't opened my eyes yet."
Kawasaki nodded slightly: "Attack me now, with all your might."
Without saying much, Uchiha Kouta quickly assumed a fighting stance.
"Sasuke, watch closely."
Kawasaki mentioned it briefly, then waved for Kota to come over.
Hangtai moved quickly left and right, took out a kunai from his bag and threw it out.
The lower-ranking ninja's strength and accuracy are both quite good.
Kawasaki carefully dodged to the side, and as he dodged, Kota quickly formed hand seals and unleashed Fire Release: Fireball Technique in the direction Kawasaki was dodging.
Kawasaki was agile and dodged the fireball again.
Hangtai abandoned his fire jutsu, dodged Kawasaki's hand chop, and rushed towards Kawasaki in one stride.
Despite Kawasaki's easy block, he still allowed Koutai to launch a round of attacks.
When the aerospace swooped in, Kawasaki kicked him away.
"Alright, go down. Focus on opening up the front. Don't use too many fancy physical techniques."
Kawasaki said calmly.
"Yes! Thank you, sir!"
Hangtai was overjoyed and left without asking any further questions.
"Do you understand now, Sasuke?"
"Master, are you saying I'm making too many movements?"
Bang!
Kawasaki flicked Sasuke's forehead again.
"wrong!"
Sasuke rubbed his head.
"The problem isn't that you use too many physical techniques, nor that you're not accurate enough when throwing kunai, or that you don't use fireballs well."
"It's that you lack control."
"control?"
Sasuke looked up.
"Yes, the Uchiha style has many taijutsu moves, which is not a bad thing."
"More movements mean more attack methods. Punches, kicks, elbows, shoulders, and knees are all attack points we can use."
"Our physical skills can be as graceful and elegant as dancing on the edge of a knife."
"But there's a prerequisite: the Sharingan."
"The Sharingan?"
"Without the Sharingan, you can't keep up with your opponent's speed, and you can't adjust your taijutsu in time. That makes the fancy moves of the Uchiha jutsu a burden."
"Oh!"
Sasuke suddenly realized that when Itachi praised him for learning the Uchiha fluid technique, it was because Itachi had the Sharingan.
He himself doesn't have the Sharingan, yet he tries to imitate these movements; he simply can't control them.
Chapter 31 Master! I understand!
"Your aim when throwing kunai is quite good..."
"But you have to know that the enemy is not a stationary target. Just being accurate is not enough. You also have to predict the direction in which the enemy will dodge."
"If you can't predict the enemy's reaction, what's the point of throwing kunai? Are you hoping the enemy will stand still and get hit by it?"
"Your brother Itachi is famous for his kunai skills. He can make flying kunai collide with each other and change their landing point."
"When you release Fire Release: Fireball Technique, you can't even see where the enemy is, and you only stop casting the technique when the enemy is close."
"Will the enemy wait for you to finish your ninjutsu before making a move?"
"The bigger or longer the fireball is, the better. The key is to grasp the timing and opportunity to release it."
"Mmm, mmm."
Sasuke nodded repeatedly, finding the argument increasingly reasonable; actual combat and training were two completely different things.
It turns out that before, my brother was just playing games with me.
"When to throw kunai, how will the enemy dodge, do you continue to use kunai to create opportunities, or use fire release to force the enemy into a trap."
There's one thing you need to understand.
Kawasaki held up one finger.
"The Fire Release: Fireball Technique, which all Uchiha people know, is mostly used to restrict the enemy's movements or to use flames to conceal their figures and launch an attack."
"Very few ninjas actually died from fireball techniques."
"Yes, Master! I understand!"
Sasuke then realized that he still had a lot to learn.
Kawasaki gently tapped Sasuke's forehead: "You can't control your power at all right now..."
"Once you can use ninjutsu freely and hit moving targets with kunai, I will teach you the rest."
"Also, you are not allowed to use Uchiha fluid techniques before you awaken your Sharingan."
"I know, Master. Just like my brother, he likes to tap my forehead."
Sasuke muttered to himself.
This seemed to bring him and Kawasaki even closer.
"Mastering all your skills is the only way to become a strong person."
"Sasuke, you want to become strong. Every skill you learn must be thoroughly mastered before it can be used in actual combat."
"Otherwise, you may very well be harmed by your own skills."
"Yes! Master!"
Seeing Sasuke so obedient and well-behaved now, Kawasaki felt a surge of affection.
Regardless of how much of what he says is remembered, as long as he stops being so arrogant and becomes more down-to-earth, his achievements will surely be even greater.
"Alright, school starts tomorrow, so get ready..."
"You're almost six years old now, and your brother graduated from the Ninja Academy when he was seven."
"Don't worry, Master, I'm Itachi's younger brother, I can graduate early too."
Sasuke's face radiated confidence.
Kawasaki waved his hand.
Itachi graduated early because of wartime needs and the urgent need for manpower.
Back then, anyone who could throw kunai or use the substitution technique could fight, let alone a genius like Itachi.
"Ninja Academy is a good place to lay a foundation, and you also need to learn how to interact with people there. Good team communication is also a required course for you."
"You should get first place at the Ninja Academy first before you talk about graduating early."
"Master, I'm sure I can get first place!"
