Chapter 31 I'll help you spew trash!
The Miami Heat are currently in the initial stages of their first peak in franchise history.
During this offseason, they first poached Pat Riley, the "mastermind" who was extremely eager for power, from New York. Owner Arison immediately gave Riley enormous power, making him serve as both the team's president and head coach. In other words, he handed over the entire management of the team to Riley!
Riley did not disappoint Alisson's trust. His first act upon taking office was to poach Alonzo Mourning, the Hornets' star center, who was hailed as the fifth-best center of the 90s!
Mourning not only has the title of the league's best iron man, but his ability is also absolutely top-notch. Whether it is his best defense, shot blocking and rebounding, or his ability on the offensive end, they are all top-notch!
Unfortunately, he was born in the 90s, an era teeming with centers, and there were four insurmountable centers above him!
Even someone as strong as Ewing only ranked fourth in the MVP rankings and didn't make the All-NBA team, so what about Mourning?
Throughout his career, despite consistently contributing 20+10+3 stats in many years and leading his teams to decent results, Mourning only made the All-NBA team twice.
There was no way around it; the remaining few were just too monstrous!
Of course, this is only Mourning's fourth year in the professional league, and he doesn't know that his entire career will be forever overshadowed by the four great centers.
The acquisition of Mourning was clearly only the first part of Riley's recruitment plan. Everyone knew that this sharp-eyed, highly tactically astute, and decisive old man was searching the entire league for an outside player who could complement Mourning and form his own Heat duo to challenge for the championship!
This is why, when rumors of infighting within the Bulls' training camp surfaced, Riley still called Krause, even though he knew it wouldn't lead to anything.
He was truly eager to find talent!
He wanted to build a championship-caliber team as quickly as possible, and he was eager to show the New York and Los Angeles teams, who had always been unwilling to give him the power to appoint and dismiss personnel, what a great manager they had missed!
However, the Heat team, now carried by only Mourning, is clearly still lacking something.
Their goal this year is still simply to make the playoffs.
After all, their current starting lineup, apart from Mourning who can be considered a top player, consists of ordinary rotation players such as Chris Gatlin, Billy Owens, and Rex Chapman, who are far from being stars!
With this lineup, relying solely on Mourning, it's obviously difficult to compete with the Bulls!
At the start of the first quarter, Jordan once again took the lead for the Bulls, hitting shots one after another to score!
Although Mourning was able to respond to some of the Heat's attacks, and consistently managed to teach Harper and Longley a lesson when they tried to drive in and score over him, the Heat were quickly pulled away by the Bulls. By the end of the first quarter, Jordan had once again scored 10 points in the quarter, and the Bulls were already leading the Heat by as many as 9 points.
Seeing that they were trailing by nearly double digits, Riley immediately pulled a decisive move. At the start of the second quarter, he put Mourning, who had just sat on the bench for a full 11 minutes in the first quarter and hadn't even caught his breath, back on the court.
He wants to take advantage of the fact that Jordan and Rodman are both out to catch up in the score!
For the Bulls, the lineup on the court at this moment consists of Lin Tian, Kerr, Pippen, Kukoc, and Wennington, who have just entered the game!
On the Heat's side, Lin Tian's matchup was Bimbo Coles, an unremarkable, short point guard.
"Kid! I watched the replay of your last game, you're pretty fast!" Despite his small stature, Coles immediately unleashed a full-court press and trash talk on Lin Tian: "But it's useless! I'm faster than you! I, Coles, have the nickname 'The Speed Demon of Miami'!"
Clearly, this guy thought Lin Tian was a newbie.
"Okay, I understand, Mr. Charlas. May I begin the attack now?"
"Cols!"
"Charles?"
"Cols!"
"Corliss?"
"Cols! Stop right there!"
Lin Tian was chatting happily with Coles in the backcourt when he suddenly accelerated and rushed past Coles in one step, quickly reaching the frontcourt!
"Kid, all you can do is sneak attacks! But it's useless! I can still catch you!"
Coles chased relentlessly, following Lin Tian all the way to the three-point line before finally catching up with him!
This achievement also reaffirmed for him that Lin Tian was indeed fast, but compared to himself, he was far behind!
"You think you can catch me because you're fast enough?" Lin Tian chuckled. He was actually too lazy to talk to these small fry whose names he couldn't even remember, but he had no choice. He only knew two people on the entire Heat team.
Mourning and Riley!
He can't exactly stand across half the court and start arguing with Mourning, can he?
As for Riley... if that old man dares to step onto the field, Lin Tian guarantees he'll break his knees! Lin Tian has never had any respect for the elderly or the young!
"You were able to catch up with me not because you're so good, but because I let you win!" After saying this, Lin Tian suddenly accelerated again! This time he used all his strength, turning into lightning, flashing past Coles once more, and directly penetrating the Heat's interior!
Mourning truly lives up to his reputation as one of the league's best defensive centers. Before Lin Tian even entered the paint, Mourning had already made a lateral movement, cutting in front of Lin Tian and providing help defense! At the same time, his raised arms perfectly covered Lin Tian's passing angle, preventing Lin Tian from passing the ball to Longley under the basket.
"Rookie, come on! Let me give you a big hat!" Mo Ning clearly didn't take Lin Tian seriously.
"Whoosh!"
Even with the new skill, Lin Tian still knew his own limitations. He would never do something as foolish as rushing up to go head-to-head with Mourning. Seeing that the attack was hopeless, he kept an eye on all sides and then bounced the ball to Pippen, who had just cut in!
"Scott, shut that coward down!"
As he passed the ball, Lin Tian didn't forget to shout!
Pippen had already reached full speed by then, grabbing the basketball and not caring whether the person in front of him was Mourning or anyone else. He stretched out his whole body and collided head-on with Mourning in the air before slamming the basketball down!
"boom!"
After a loud bang, Pippen completed an incredible dunk!
He dunked on Mourning, a top defensive player, and left him completely overwhelmed!
"This shot is for your grandma, Alonzo! Hopefully she won't cry for you!" After Pippen made the shot, Lin Tian roared at Mourning, "You good-for-nothing coward! I despise you on behalf of the people of Charlotte!"
"Scott, are you mute, you bastard? You need a rookie to trash talk for you?" Mourning was also furious after being scolded by Lin Tian, and started yelling back at Pippen.
"You're not worthy of my personal trash talk!" Pippen was also a master of trash talk, and he hurled it at Mourning while secretly giving him the middle finger!
