Chapter 12: The treacherous minister has emerged!
Chapter 12: The treacherous minister has emerged!
"Soldiers loyal to the Targaryen dynasty!"
All the players, both new and old, focused their attention on the newcomer.
Viserys was still wearing that flashy armor, and he once again addressed both new and veteran players in the same way, with the same opening remarks.
At the prompting of a few veteran players, the eight new players dutifully kept quiet and watched as Viserys gave them a shot of adrenaline from another world.
Looking at the eight new laborers—one beast tamer, four warriors, and three alchemists—Viserys couldn't help but sigh, "My army for restoring the kingdom has grown even stronger."

The sound of orderly footsteps came from the street corner, attracting the attention of a group of players.
Turning his gaze away from Viserys, the new player, Wood, who had chosen the Alchemist class, turned to look at the source of the sound.
"army?"
"Could it be that our secret plot to restore our kingdom has been exposed?"
"They've come with ill intentions!"
"That's not true; we are the ones who have arrived!"
Amid the murmurs of the players, two rows of armored Unsullied soldiers, wielding spears, halted before them.
Look at them, no wonder they're rich, they even have twenty-odd Immaculates clearing the way.
Unlike the players, Viserys was not panicked at this moment, because he knew that it was Illyrio, that fat bastard, who had come to pick him up.
"Don't panic. The newcomer is Illyrio, the governor of Pentos. He is a loyal and righteous man, just like you, devoted to the true dragon."
Seeing the players already drawing their swords and eagerly anticipating a fierce battle, Viserys quickly offered an explanation to prevent them from getting carried away and getting beaten up by the Unsullied squad.
As soon as Viserys finished speaking, three carriages turned out from the street corner and slowly drove towards them.
"So these Spartans are on our side after all? What a waste of excitement! I was planning to go on a killing spree!"
Upon hearing this, the new player, who loves pineapple pizza, reluctantly sheathed his longsword under the cold gaze of the Unsullied, who was less than a meter away.
"Why do I feel like these people are creepy?" The new player, Minister of Revenue, nudged his sister-in-law with his shoulder and asked, his gaze fixed on the Immaculate soldiers opposite them.
The lead carriage slowly came to a stop, and Illyrio, with his magnificent robe open and his enormous belly exposed, jumped down from the carriage.
"Your Majesty Viserys, please allow your finance minister to dress so indecently, for the weather is simply too hot."
Illyrio, who stepped down from the carriage, first glanced subtly at the group of players blocking Viserys's way, then walked towards Viserys with a deliberately lewd smile.
"Although judging a book by its cover is not a good idea, I really think this guy looks like a treacherous minister!" The Golden-Winged Roc turned its gaze away from the walking ball of flesh and looked at Xian Dan with a confident expression.
With such a commotion outside, even if Daenerys were truly asleep as His Majesty the King had said, she should have been awakened by now.
And so, the princess of Dragonstone was leaning against the doorframe, watching the local tyrant bow respectfully to the governor, Viserys.
"Since Sir William... alas, it has been a long time since I have seen a loyal subject devoted to the king's way. Lord Illyrio, you are excellent!"
Viserys, clad in magnificent armor, appeared before him. Judging from his appearance alone, Illyrio truly felt that the other man possessed a certain regal bearing, befitting a king.
I just don't know where our beggar king got the money to buy this set of armor, since he even sold his mother's crown?
Illyrio did not become complacent upon hearing Viserys's praise; he had heard far too many such empty words in his life.
He maintained a smile throughout, squinting as he discreetly observed everything concerning the king.
"Please get into the carriage, Your Majesty. All I need are these. Uh, thank you for following behind the carriage, but Your Majesty, rest assured, my residence is not too far from here."
Just as Viserys finished his long and eloquent praise, the governor gestured for His Majesty to get into the carriage.
Viserys nodded, then turned and gestured for Daenerys to come over.
The storm descended before the wrath of the sleeping dragon, never daring to defy its will. Without much thought, Princess Viserys strode over to its side.
A little girl with her head down, looking very shy, Illyrio's gaze only lingered on her for a moment.
"My lords, you have come across the sea, and even though you have no money, you still bring a long sword to my side. As your king, I am deeply honored."
Viserys did not immediately board the carriage, but instead looked at the group of players:
"I cannot allow those who are loyal to the king to be treated so poorly. You should not live in cramped and dilapidated thatched huts."
"You should be enjoying the company of beautiful women, eating delicious food, and sleeping on soft beds in grand mansions. This is the treatment that a king, as king, should provide you with. In a moment, my Minister of Finance, Lord Illyrio, will assign you your rooms."
"Long live the King!"
"Hehe, I say Your Majesty's insight is brilliant!"
"I should ask about the game quests or something, but beautiful girls are just really catching my eye!"
Seeing the jubilant "peasants," Illyrio's smile froze for a moment.
As it turns out, promising players a glimpse of the future really works.
Looking out the carriage window at the players running behind the carriage in a chaotic formation that contrasted sharply with the Unsullied squad, Viserys, the Dragon King, channeled his inner demons and smirked wickedly.
Illyrio, another player observing through the car window, lowered the curtain with a disdainful expression.
"They're just a bunch of rabble," the governor thought. "His Unsullied squad could easily take care of them."
If Viserys knew what the other person was thinking at that moment, he would definitely laugh at the other person for not knowing what the Fourth Calamity was.
My players are indeed no match for the Unsullied squad, but you, Governor, had better not let your eunuchs show their health bars in front of my players.
However, Viserys was unaware of what Illyrio was thinking in the other carriage.
But he was genuinely curious whether the Unsullied, a top-tier infantry force in Game of Thrones known for their discipline, would show any shock on their dead faces when facing the immortal players.
The carriage soon came to a stop, and Viserys led the silent Daenerys down from it.
His players immediately gathered around him.
"Putting everything else aside, in real life I get out of breath after walking three steps, but in the game I can walk like the wind. It's really amazing!" The player, the FBI Director, stood at the back of the crowd, looking at Zhao Xiaotian beside him and exclaimed.
Zhao Xiaotian narrowed his eyes upon hearing this.
This game may soon appeal to people who are not disabled or terminally ill.
