Chapter 232 Blocking the Demon Array
Chapter 232 Blocking the Demon Array
Chapter 232 Blocking the Demon Array
"A magic-blocking array, as the name suggests, is capable of blocking magical spells."
"And—it can block any spell." Loila's words drew gasps from the students below the stage.
"Any magic arrays?" Ron muttered under his breath, "Does that include the Killing Curse?"
"Definitely." Hermione, who had somehow ended up sitting next to them, coughed and said, "Not just the Killing Curse, but maybe the Cruciatus Curse and the Imperius Curse too."
"Really?"
Amid the students' enthusiastic discussion, Loila coughed and then gently tapped the table with her wand to quiet them down.
"Since—since everyone has doubts, let's give it a try." As she spoke, a rare wicked smile appeared on her face beneath the mask.
Next, I'm going to use Mr. Malfoy as the test subject, and then attack him fiercely with the Killing Curse!
Now you know better than to mess with my friends, right?
Thinking this, Loila slowly began, "So, which student would like to volunteer to come up and give it a try?"
'
Before Loila finished speaking, almost half of the students raised their hands, looking at her with expectant eyes, each one seemingly hoping to be chosen.
Hey! How am I supposed to choose Mr. Malfoy if you guys keep acting like this? What if there's any danger? Although there's definitely no danger—but—but do you really trust me that much?
And Mr. Malfoy hadn't even raised his hand yet—if he simply ignored the student who had raised his hand and called on him, wouldn't that be seen as favoritism?
Loila pursed her lips in slight distress, but ultimately decided to let Malfoy off the hook—after all, there was still no concrete information about the unicorn, and Dumbledore had no new updates.
Perhaps Malfoy's father has already forgotten about this, right?
In the end, Loila chose Miss Granger as the student to go on stage, for no other reason than that Miss Granger practically ran onto the stage herself.
"Miss Granger—please put on this necklace." Loila gently waved her wand, handing Hermione a necklace she had made in advance.
Of course she wouldn't give her the necklace she was wearing; Luna gave it to me!
Watching Hermione put on the necklace, Loila nodded gently and said, "I—I will use a spell to attack you next—"
"You don't need to hide, and you don't need to use a wand."
Doesn't that sound a bit dangerous? Now you know not to be careless—
"Yes, Professor!" Hermione nodded almost immediately, looking at Loila excitedly, as if she couldn't wait for Loila to use some particularly powerful spell to attack her.
However, Loyla was destined to disappoint Hermione—she pursed her lips and finally gently raised her wand and flicked it.
A silver disarming spell shot straight at Hermione.
Then, just as it was about to hit her, a soft "bang!" sounded. With that sound, the dazzling silver light disappeared, replaced by a fleeting blue light on Hermione's body.
The magic circle was triggered perfectly.
Amid the students' gasps, Loila raised an eyebrow. "See that? That's magic circle magic! Study hard, and you can draw magic circles like this too!"
"Cousin, have you considered making and selling magic array props to block magic arrays?"
As soon as get out of class ended, Peterson knocked on Loila's office door, looking expectant after having just sat in on a class.
"I—I've already made magic circle props," Loila thought for a moment and said softly, "But—but what about selling them—"
"This is a remarkable invention," Peterson said slowly. "A magic array that can block any spell."
"Selling a string of these for three hundred—no, four hundred Gallons wouldn't be a problem!"
Seeing his excited expression, Loila pursed her lips and said, "But—but drawing the magic-blocking array—is—very—difficult."
"And I—I've been busy with other magic array items lately."
Loila's new magic circle items have recently hit a bottleneck, and she doesn't actually have much time to mass-produce the blocking magic circle necklaces.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
After all, engraving magic arrays on such small objects is very troublesome, and it would be a waste of materials to do it on clothes or something.
"Is that so?" Peterson raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. After thinking for a few seconds, he gave a slightly apologetic look: "I was a little too hasty, cousin."
"Feel sorry."
"Ah—it's nothing, it's nothing!" Loira quickly shook her head to comfort him. Peterson had helped her a lot; he had been in charge of such troublesome things as patent applications. Loira felt that she should thank Peterson properly.
Why are you asking them to apologize instead?
Ah—thinking about it, should I give Peterson a gift? After all, he's really helped me a lot—but—but this is the first time I've ever given a gift to someone who's not a friend—
The honey candies given to all the students don't count! And the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans that Dumbledore gave him—those that tasted like vomit—don't count either.
And will Peterson accept his own gift?
In just a few seconds, Loila's mind went through a mental storm.
Unaware of the situation, Peterson simply said, "Then, shall I apply for the patent for the magic-blocking array for my cousin as well?"
"After all, my cousin already taught it to the students in class today," he said, pushing up his glasses. "It wouldn't be good if some student applied for it."
"Ah—yes." Although she hadn't heard what Peterson was saying at all, Loira still nodded subconsciously.
"Ah—right." Seeing Loira come back to her senses, Peterson seemed to remember something and reminded her, "I saw my cousin's performance at the dueling club."
"My cousin is amazing!"
"Th-thank you." Loila lowered her head, blushing slightly. She had never thought of herself as capable; she had only taken a shortcut because of her own reasons. Besides, Miss Shiloh's performance was quite good. If they had been fighting in the rain, Loila couldn't say whether she could have defeated Miss Shiloh.
But clearly, Peterson didn't think so. He said slowly, "Perhaps I should suggest to Headmaster Dumbledore that my cousin be put in charge of the Dueling Club."
"No—no!" Loila was startled by his words. Peterson, aren't you my cousin? Why do you sound like you want me dead?
"This kind of thing... let's just forget about it." Loila twitched her pointed ears and said, "I only want to be in charge of... the magic circle..."
"I see—" Peterson nodded knowingly, "Then I was a bit presumptuous."
"However—my cousin needs to be careful lately." He lowered his voice as he spoke, "My cousin's relationship with the Rozier family isn't exactly good."
"It's definitely not a simple matter for Shiloh Rozier to invite his cousin to be a teaching assistant," he said, shaking his head. "Maybe something bad is going to happen soon."
"Cousin, you need to be careful."
"Hmm!"
Don't suddenly say such scary things!
