Chapter 150 Valentine's Day
Chapter 150 Valentine's Day
Chapter 150 Valentine's Day
Loila certainly hadn't stumbled into some other world; this was still the Great Hall of Hogwarts, except—
It was very different from what she remembered.
Everywhere was filled with all kinds of flowers, white tablecloths covered the tables, and fairies dressed in white angel costumes moved among the students.
What... what kind of wedding is this?
Loila gritted her teeth, wanting to leave. She felt she was really not suited for this kind of scene—but just as she took a few steps back, a fairy came over carrying a plate.
"Beautiful lady, who would you like to have lunch with today?"
"Eek!" Loila covered her mouth and couldn't speak for a long time. Her mind was in complete chaos, and she couldn't figure out what was going on.
Where is Dumbledore?! Where is Dumbledore?!
For the first time, Royla so desperately wanted to see Dumbledore—if Dumbledore were here, surely—surely this wouldn't have happened!
"Dear students, dear fans, welcome to Hogwarts on Valentine's Day!" Mr. Lockhart answered Royla's question with his signature smile.
Ah—so today is Valentine's Day!
Wait a minute! Is this how Valentine's Day is celebrated in Britain?!
Loila had experienced Valentine's Day before in Durmstrang, but—but did such a thing actually happen?
Ah—right, that must be because Mr. Lockhart wasn't at Durmstrang, right?
Loila recalled the scene she had seen in Mr. Lockhart's memory—Mr. Lockhart, who had once been her student, had created such an embarrassing scene.
Now that he's a professor—it's unimaginable what kind of trouble he'll cause!
Loila pursed her lips, her face pale as she watched the fairies around Mr. Lockhart dance their way down from the high platform of the auditorium, then twirl around to one student after another.
"Would you like to dance with me?" A fairy approached Loila and said something that sent a chill down her spine.
"No—no—I can't dance!" she said, taking a few steps back as she tried to run away.
"Wait a minute!" the fairy stopped Loila and said, "All students attending Mr. Lockhart's Valentine's Day Ball must dance."
"Ah—I—" Loila gritted her teeth, looked around, and then walked into the curtains by the window. As the white curtains turned, Professor Hamilton, wearing a hood and mask, came out again.
"I'm a professor!" Loila cried out as if grasping at a straw. "I—I—I'm not a student!"
"I see—" The fairy pursed her lips in surprise, thought for a few seconds, and then nodded: "Mr. Lockhart really didn't say what to do when facing the professor—"
Watching him shake his head and leave, Loila breathed a sigh of relief.
Good thing—we've escaped a disaster—
The students around her were either dancing with their partners or being dragged to dance by fairies—chaotic dancing filled the entire auditorium. Loila glanced at the door, which was not far from her but felt extremely distant, and took a deep breath.
I need to hurry—hurry up and get out of here—
However, just as she took a step, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her.
Good afternoon, Miss Hamilton!
This is—this is Mr. Lockhart!!!
As Lockhart spoke, all the students turned to look at Loira, their eyes filled with surprise, as if wondering why she was there.
I don't want to be here either!
Loila, of course, understood what they meant. Her face behind the mask was extremely pale; she had no idea there was such an event at noon today!
That doesn't matter anymore! Mr. Lockhart is now slowly walking towards us!
What is Mr. Lockhart going to do?
A passageway had somehow appeared in the center of the auditorium, with students standing on either side watching Loila and Lockhart face each other, while a fairy in a formal dress played the violin—what a hellish scene!
Loila felt like she was going to faint—she hastily raised her hand to stop Mr. Lockhart, but couldn't utter a word because of the many people around.
It's over—it's all over!
As Mr. Lockhart drew closer, his smile grew ever wider.
"Beautiful Miss Hamilton—would you like to dance with me?"
"Alas!"
Loila stood frozen in place, watching Lockhart's hand slowly reach out—No—this won't do!
Loila gripped her wand tightly, her subconscious instincts pushing her to cast a spell on Lockhart the next second in self-protection.
Miss Nagini, hidden in her sleeve, also emitted a dangerous hissing sound.
But just then, a student appeared in front of Loila without her noticing.
"May I dance with Mr. Lockhart?"
This is—this is a member of the Pinecone Party!
Loila's pupils dilated slightly as she watched the person she had met in the Hufflepuff lounge stop Lockhart.
"Miss Ezreal, I understand you're a fan of mine—" Lockhart said with a smile, "but—"
I'd still like Miss Hamilton to dance first.
Don't you think that's a bit rude?
Lockhart's voice was the same as before, but what he said shocked Loila.
This is not something Mr. Lockhart would say at all—and Mr. Lockhart isn't—doesn't he have no thoughts about himself?
It's not just about inviting myself to go.
Loila pondered for a few seconds, remembering that she had never revealed her true face to Mr. Lockhart—naturally, it couldn't be related to the Veela's allure.
So who is this?
For the first time, Loila felt that Mr. Lockhart was not himself, or rather, that Lockhart at this moment was not himself.
"Hey, Mr. Lockhart!" Ezreal said, seemingly not hearing him, "I just wanted to dance with you!"
"Can't you satisfy me as your fan?"
She smiled as she spoke, then quickly reached out as if to take Lockhart's hand.
But just then—Loy suddenly noticed Lockhart's right hand twitch slightly.
He used a wand! And it was a silent spell!
Loila understood what had happened almost instantly. A faint mist rose and was blown onto Ezreal's face by a strange wind.
"Hmm!" Ezreal seemed to be stunned. She subconsciously took a few steps back and then her expression turned strange.
Mr. Lockhart used a spell on the students—and it was a Confusion Charm—Loira gritted her teeth and pursed her lips. Using a spell on students—wasn't that going too far?
So she flicked her wand in her sleeve, and the confusion in Ezreal's eyes slowly disappeared. However, she seemed a little dazed and just stood there, not knowing what had happened.
"This is not right, Mr. Lockhart." But then she suddenly heard a somewhat unfamiliar voice, a light and airy voice, yet slightly childish.
The owner of the voice seemed to be standing right behind her.
"Professor Hamilton?" She turned slightly to look at the person who hadn't spoken since they appeared. She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but the voice seemed vaguely familiar.
"What's wrong, Miss Hamilton?" Lockhart still had that smiling look on her face, as if nothing had happened.
But just looking at him, Loira instinctively felt disgust. Yes—disgust—she had never disliked Mr. Lockhart before, even though he was always causing her trouble—but seeing that strange smile, Loira felt disgust.
Loila watched as he closed his eyes slightly and then raised his wand amidst the astonished gazes of all the students.
