Chapter 7 Wild Boar "King Kong"

Turning around, he was stunned. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. There was a wild boar with long white tusks, weighing more than 200 pounds, staring straight at Zhang Niu.

Zhang Niu stared at the wild boar, believing that his overwhelming aura would tame it.

As the wild boar slowly approached, Zhang Niu felt extremely nervous; it would be a lie to say he wasn't afraid.

He quickly waved his hand, saying, "Don't come any closer. I have no grudge against you. You should go find someone else." He then backed away.

When the wild boar came into Zhang Niu's sight, he noticed a tiny creature lying on its head that had been missing for several days.

"Isn't this little guy? How come he's on the wild boar's head?" He was very puzzled.

Zhang Niu then realized that the wild boar might have been lured out of the mountains by the little guy. Looking at him from all angles, he felt that with the little guy's size, how could he possibly have done such a thing? The wild boar would probably kick him and send him straight to heaven.

But in reality, this big wild boar was not making a sound at all. The little thing on its head squeaked a few times, and then the wild boar walked to Zhang Niu's side and nudged him a few times with its distinctive snout. Zhang Niu was so frightened that he stood there motionless, afraid that the guy might get angry and swat at him with its tusks, which would really be the end of him.

Zhang Niu has never seen a wild boar this close before, and he is only able to see it thanks to the little one.

"You need to have a name at home. I remember there was a movie where a gorilla was shooting down a plane or something, oh right, I think it was called King Kong. So, your name will be King Kong from now on!"

The wild boar seemed to like the name, grunting and squealing.

"You'd better take good care of the house and the orchard from now on. Whenever I'm in a good mood, I'll buy you a few sows so you can live like an emperor. They're much gentler than the wild boars you live with in the mountains, provided you work hard." Zhang Niu made these empty promises to deceive Jin Gang, who had just entered the house.

King Kong kept humming as he heard this, seemingly quite pleased with the terms.

A person and a pig walking on the mountain road attracted a lot of attention, especially the big wild boar, which looked frightening. Fortunately, there was no one around.

Running to the door, I saw King Kong confronting my father, while my little sister hid behind him, peeking out cautiously at the wild boar. "That sound must have come from my little sister! No wonder anyone would react like that when a scary wild boar suddenly jumped out of the house. Luckily, King Kong didn't charge at it, or someone could have really died."

"King Kong, come back. Those are our family members. Remember to look carefully from now on." He shouted to King Kong.

Upon hearing this, King Kong grunted and ran to the front of the house, where he lay down to continue sleeping.

"Dad, were you scared? We just brought this thing home yesterday, I haven't even told you yet."

"It's nothing, but I scared your little sister." Dad chuckled.

The little sister, who had been hiding behind her father, saw the wild boar run to the front of the house and then came out from behind him. She ran up to Zhang Niu and said, "Bad brother, you scared Niu Niu with that big wild boar. Niu Niu was so scared." She patted her chest with her little hand.

"It's all my fault, Niu Niu. How about I take you to hunt a wild boar to vent your anger? It's its fault for scaring our little Niu Niu."

Niu Niu cautiously glanced at the wild boar in the distance, then looked at her brother, unsure of what to do.

Zhang Niu picked up the little girl, went to Jin Gang's side, squatted down, held the little girl's hand, and patted Jin Gang while saying, "You scared my little girl, I'll beat you to death, you bad guy."

After her brother stood up for her, Niu Niu cautiously asked, "Brother, can I touch it? It's so cute!"

Immediately, I felt a pang of frustration. Is this the kind of size you call cute? Do girls start calling everything cute when they're little?

He put the little girl down and said to King Kong, "You'd better behave and not upset our little girl. Behave yourself, okay?"

Niu Niu stretched out her clean, white hand, carefully stroked the wild boar, then quickly pulled it back. Seeing that the wild boar didn't move, she took a small step forward, squatted down next to King Kong, and reached out her little hand again to touch the two tusks, clapping her hands and saying, "The pig is so cute!"

I stood up and realized that my dad was standing right next to me.

"Your wild boar is really big, it must weigh at least 200 pounds! This is the first time I've ever seen such a big wild boar. There are fewer wild boars now, but they used to come down from the mountains all the time and wreak havoc on the crops in the fields." As Dad spoke, he recalled the times when wild boars used to come down from the mountains.

"Well, when I came back from the mountains yesterday, I found that this wild boar had followed me all the way home and hadn't left, so I didn't chase it away." Zhang Niu didn't tell his father that the wild boar was brought back by the little one, so he just made it up to appease his father.

After all, such a thing is too surprising to talk about.

Dad chuckled. "Well, you're in luck. So, what are you planning to do with it?"

Zhang Niu scratched his head. "I haven't thought of anything yet. Let's just keep raising it for now."

"That's fine, but we need to be careful not to bite the villagers coming up the mountain. A creature that big is very dangerous. It's best to fence it off," the old man's father quickly suggested.

"I understand, I know what to do." Zhang Niu nodded.

"The day after tomorrow is the Mid-Autumn Festival. Remember to go home early and don't keep your mom waiting."

Time really flies. I was busy with the wasteland issue a while ago, and now the Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner.

"Okay, I'll be back early."

"I'll head back first. Your uncle's family has some business to attend to. You can bring Niu Niu back tonight. Let her play here tonight!" Before leaving, he also asked Zhang Niu to take his little sister home that night.

Turning around, I saw Niu Niu scratching Jin Gang's itch, while Jin Gang squinted his eyes, looking extremely pleased.
