Chapter 10 The Madman
Chapter 10 The Madman
Su An raised his hand and slapped it down, like smashing a watermelon. Those arrogant and ferocious shadows were actually blocked by an invisible barrier. Chu Tianjiao exclaimed in surprise, "Word magic?"
The shadows were thrown out of the car, and the next second they surged back up covered in mud and blood.
Su An realized that Chu Tianjiao must also be a mixed-race individual, and shouted, "Quick! Use your skills!"
Chu Tianjiao swerved sharply, then roared, "How did you know I have skills?"
"That's a long story!"
"Let's make a long story short!"
"The enemy's face is practically catching up to the car's rear end! Don't worry about that, we're all in this together!"
Chu Tianjiao glanced at Su An, who was shouting and stopping the phantom outside the window from attacking Chu Zihang, who was still trapped in the Spirit Vision. At least this guy had no ill intentions towards Zihang.
Chu Tianjiao was relieved that his son's safety was guaranteed, so he was about to go on a killing spree.
He grinned and took his left hand off the steering wheel.
With a clang, a flash of cold light appeared before Su An's eyes as Chu Tianjiao pulled a white blade from the car door.
It was a long, slender Japanese sword, its clear, water-like blade sliding out of its black scabbard.
From the moment he gripped the knife handle, Chu Tianjiao's demeanor changed. He transformed from a chattering driver preoccupied with trivial family matters into a ruthless executioner, as hard as steel.
That sharp aura emanated from his golden eyes. He held his breath, raised his arm, and jabbed it into the car door.
The Japanese sword pierced out of the car as easily as stabbing butter, then swept across the speeding vehicle.
Several screams and shattering sounds were heard, and then black blood splattered like rain.
Those illusory figures were cut in two with a single stroke.
"Uncle! Do you have any more knives over there?"
For some inexplicable reason, Su An felt that she really could do it.
"You know how to use a knife, here you go!" Chu Tianjiao exclaimed in surprise. He raised his left hand and quickly tossed an umbrella from the car door into Su An's hand.
Su An weighed it in his hand; it wasn't an umbrella. The black canopy wrapped around the handle, and the slender shape of the umbrella suggested that its weight was abnormal.
Even inside the umbrella lies a knife!
With a whoosh, Su drew his sword and stared blankly at his own blue eyes reflected in the blade.
"I'm not a seasoned killer like Angers; I don't know how to use a knife."
"You don't know how to use a knife?"
"I just have a vague feeling that Gojo Satoru is right, that those things outside the car can't hurt me."
Who is Gojo Satoru? Before Chu Tianjiao could even ask, Su An opened the car door, grabbed the top edge, and flipped it over before Chu Tianjiao could react.
"What?"
"What?"
Chu Tianjiao and Chu Zihang both exclaimed in surprise.
Chu Zihang had just recovered from his spiritual vision. Although he didn't know the secrets of the dragon race, his bloodline told him that the phantom outside the car was dangerous.
Chu Tianjiao knew very well how dangerous it was outside the car; those were high-ranking death servants surrounding the gods! If it weren't for those unwavering blue eyes, he would have been certain that Su An had gone mad.
"These high-ranking hybrids are all lunatics."
"Will Su An survive?" Chu Zihang looked out the window with worry.
"His figure reminds me of an old man with silver hair." Chu Tianjiao wasn't sure either, and kept looking out the window while driving.
Soon, both of them widened their eyes.
"Is he insane?"
"Are you crazy?"
Su An had somehow managed to climb from the outside of the car to the roof, standing as straight as a pine tree, his hands gripping the hilt of his knife, the tip pointing diagonally at the approaching shadows.
Yes, he stood there, on the roof of the car, on the roof of a Maybach speeding at over 120 miles per hour on the highway, leaning on a simple Japanese sword, attempting to challenge all the shadows in front of him.
The rain was heavy, and water was everywhere, almost filling the entire space.
The misty vapor almost obscured the view, and the whispers drew ever closer.
The shadows swayed and laughed wildly, seemingly mocking the prey's overestimation of its abilities and its self-inflicted trap, or perhaps they were planning how to dismember the prey.
Su An gripped the knife hilt with trembling hands. His heart pounded wildly, arterial blood pumped into every capillary in his body, and adrenaline made him widen his eyes. Those blue eyes became even bluer and brighter, as cold and chilling as ice crystals from the deepest abyss, and as dazzling and brilliant as a sky full of stars above the Arctic.
A mysterious and profound confidence coursed through his body, then settled in his hands as he gripped the hilt of the knife.
All he could see was a beam of light—the gleam of the knife in his hand.
The blade flashed upwards, only to be blocked by the shadow's limbs with a clang.
Su An's face stiffened. Good heavens, that Gojo Satoru had lied to him.
He thought he was invincible.
So he ended up running onto the roof of the car and putting on an embarrassing show.
As I pondered, the shadows around me raised their scaly arms, revealing sharp, gleaming claws.
That claw could cut through the steel plate next to the car door just now; if it touched a human limb, it would tear it apart easily.
As the claws drew closer, Su An's eyes grew increasingly blue.
The fear of death crawled all over his back like a swarm of spiders, but he was powerless to stop it.
The shadows had gone from being wary to mocking and sarcastic. They laughed at the prey's foolish behavior and wanted the damned prey to pay for his arrogance.
They screamed, they cheered, and they scraped their foul-smelling fangs and claws toward Su An's vitals.
"Be careful!"
"Be careful!"
Chu Tianjiao and Chu Zihang anxiously watched the battle through the sunroof. Chu Tianjiao gripped the steering wheel tightly with slight tension, while Chu Zihang subconsciously tightened his seatbelt. Neither of them wanted to see the boy with the azure eyes become a victim of the Shadow's claws.
But it's too slow.
It's too late.
Just as Chu Tianjiao was about to activate his Golden Eyes and risk leaving the driver's seat to make a move, he suddenly froze.
"That's... some kind of Word of Power..."
For no other reason than that, the sharp teeth and claws slowly stopped a few centimeters in front of Su An.
The shadows roared and charged forward in fury, but gained nothing.
It was as if that wasn't a spatial distance of a few centimeters, but an infinity that transcended the entire universe.
If I had gotten just a little closer, I could have killed the prey right in front of me. If I had only been a few centimeters away, I could have drunk its sweet blood. Why, why, why! Is the prey of such a high-class bloodline?
Su An's eyes shone like sapphires. He was not yet familiar with this power, and he just stared in amazement at the sharp claws that could not be penetrated, trying to feel it carefully.
Is this the power of Gojo Satoru?
Su An had a vague feeling that the power within him was inextricably linked to the white-haired man, rather than the power of words that Chu Tianjiao and Angers had mentioned.
He needs to adapt to this force.
Su An tentatively leaned forward, and the shadows were actually pushed backward.
It was as if there was an unbridgeable distance between them, as if those phantoms could never touch his body even if they spent their entire lives trying.
So it's a defensive, strong crowd control skill?
If you guys don't come after me, then it's my turn next.
Su An laughed arrogantly and raised his long sword, causing the controlled phantoms to involuntarily shudder.
