Chapter 46 Nemesis A
Chapter 46 Nemesis A
"Is something wrong?" Tira asked on the other end of the phone.
"I need your help..." Jiang Yanming then told Tila about his needs.
"Stable power supply, stable network, and then the message can't get out, right?" Tira repeated Jiang Yanming's request.
"That's right." Jiang Yanming nodded.
"I'll help you look. I'll call you if I find anything," Tira added. "Also, you need to have some cash ready, preferably from the Four Nations Alliance, Nar."
"Okay," Jiang Yanming replied.
After the call ended, Jiang Yanming put down his phone and noticed that the wallpaper on the table had changed again. He then raised his left arm to examine the white arm guard, where he saw continuous text.
"A foundation? A financial company?" After a quick look, he realized that this was a clue about monsters.
"It seems Mr. G didn't make me start the investigation from scratch. That's good; it'll make finding evidence much faster," Jiang Yanming thought to himself. "Of course, that's assuming these clues are valid."
Then Jiang Yanming put on a long-sleeved jacket, rolled down the sleeves to cover his white arm guards, and went out to find a restaurant to eat.
……
Dulan City.
This is the capital and economic center of the Republic of Ramos.
The top floor of a building.
An elderly man in a black suit stood in front of a one-way mirror, looking down at the street and the blue ocean in the distance.
A short while later, the phone on his desk rang, and he quickly went over and answered it on speakerphone.
"How is it? Have you made contact?" the old man asked.
"Yes, I've made contact. It's definitely Mr. J."
"Is it reliable?" the old man asked.
"Of course it's reliable. After all, it's an official introduction from the Four Nations Alliance, so its level of expertise is probably not bad. They should be able to get to the bottom of this."
"That's good." The old man nodded and then hung up the phone.
Then, the old man turned to look at the figure sitting on the sofa with her back to him in the corner of the room and said, "Miss Chris, you heard that too, didn't you?"
"Of course." The woman called Chris chuckled. "Our opponent is Mr. J, who is quite famous in the Four Nations Alliance's cyber hacking circle."
"So, Miss Chris, what do you plan to do?" the old man asked tentatively.
"Of course, it's to find Mr. J a worthy opponent, and one that they're both old rivals who know each other very well!" Chris said with a faint smile. "I'm really looking forward to this showdown between cyber hackers."
The old man nodded slightly without saying a word, feeling a pang of regret.
He hadn't expected that the Four Nations Alliance, a super alliance on par with the Holy Union, would actually get involved!
"You seem very worried?" Chris turned her head, revealing half of her pale, bloodless, and alluring face.
"Indeed, there is." The old man did not hide anything. "After all, the four-nation alliance got involved."
"Don't worry, the four-nation alliance won't interfere too much. Introducing a cyber hacker is basically the limit." Chris's lips curled up.
"Oh?" The old man clearly didn't believe it.
"It may not sound nice, but would you care about the threat of a strong ant?" Chris asked casually.
"No." The old man paused for a moment.
Yes, the Republic of Ramos, which they were fighting over, was nothing more than an ant in the eyes of the four-nation alliance, not even a strong ant.
Because the "strong ants" Chris referred to were the mysterious vampire organization that controlled a large part of the northern continent, not the Ramos Republic beneath his feet!
……
It was afternoon.
An industrial park located on the outskirts of Milin City, near the sea.
After a busy period, Tira, the witcher from the Bear Clan, finally found a suitable place, so she led Jiang Yanming to this idle factory building.
"This is the industrial park with the most stable power supply in Milin City. There are several decent restaurants outside the park, but accommodation is a bit of a hassle. I think it should meet your needs," Tila explained.
Jiang Yanming did not reply immediately, but instead walked around the small factory to check if the power and network systems were working properly.
After confirming that everything was in order, he turned and asked, "How much does it cost to rent it for ten days?"
"A one-month lease is required, and the monthly rent is close to 3 nars," Tira replied.
"Let's do it here then." Jiang Yanming didn't haggle, because Tira was just a middleman.
Seeing that the factory had been idle for a long time and was covered in dust, he asked, "Would it be alright to have someone do a simple cleaning here?"
"No problem." Tira nodded in agreement. Cleaning this small factory only cost a few hundred or three hundred nars.
"This is the rent. Also, could you please buy me some food that's easy to store?" Jiang Yanming took out 4 Naals from his bag and handed it to Tira.
"Okay." Tira nodded.
After saying that, she couldn't help but look down at the heavy stack of banknotes in her hand. As a witcher who had been poor and destitute for many years, she hadn't handled such a large amount of banknotes in a long time.
"Contact me again once things are settled here," Jiang Yanming said.
"No problem." Tila stuffed the four stacks of banknotes into her clothes and quickly walked out of the factory.
Jiang Yanming followed, and the idle factory fell silent.
……
The Four Nations Alliance, inside an old villa with dilapidated exterior walls.
Unlike the old exterior walls, the interior layout and environment of the villa are full of modern technology, with a variety of high-tech machines placed in various rooms on the first floor.
The innermost room on the first floor has been converted into an operating room.
At this moment, a young man lies on the operating table. His chest has been cut open, and his heart is beating inside his chest cavity, causing other organs to vibrate.
Are you sure?
Although the man's chest was opened, he was still conscious and talking to others.
"Yes, Mr. A," Miss Chris's voice rang out in the operating room, "we contacted you immediately after confirming that the opponent was Mr. J."
"Very good, name your price." The man called A smirked. "If the price is right, I'll take the job."
"2000 million nails, I think Mr. A should be satisfied with this price," Chris's smiling voice rang out. "It solves Mr. J's problem and also makes a profit."
"Too low!" A chuckled. "J is my junior brother, he should be worth at least 3000 million nails, right?"
Chris was silent for a moment, then finally agreed: "Okay."
"Send me the details, and I'll meet up with you as soon as possible," A said with a smile.
"It will be sent to your email address shortly, Mr. A. We look forward to your arrival then." Chris said and hung up the phone.
Beside the operating table.
A middle-aged man wearing a mask, surgical cap, and white coat, holding a scalpel in one hand, spoke up: "You accepted this job right in front of me, aren't you afraid I'll tell J?"
"You're old Jack, I trust you," A said with a smile, not at all worried that the other party would leak the secret.
"Hmph, today is the last of your modification surgeries, but the various modules in your body still need to adjust. Forcing it to start could easily cause problems," Old Jack subtly advised. "Normally, you need to rest for one to two weeks."
"If we force the module to start, what will the failure rate and mortality rate be?" A asked with a smile.
"Implanting a large number of modules in a short period of time significantly increases the failure rate and mortality rate," Old Jack sighed. "The failure rate is estimated to be around 20%, and the mortality rate will be much lower, but still close to 3%!"
"Only 20%," A said with a smile. "That's enough!"
