Chapter 489 - 488: Is He Really Irreplaceable?
Bella Acker let out a sigh of relief and was about to continue walking inside when suddenly a young girl’s shout came from behind.
"Bella, please take care of Joan for us! If... if Joan really likes you, we... we will give our blessing. As long as Joan is fine, we’ll be obedient... boohoo..." The young girl burst into tears before she could finish her sentence.
The girls holding placards nearby also started crying, wiping away tears in sorrow.
It goes without saying that these young girls were most likely Archer Quinn’s fans who saw him as a husband or boyfriend.
It was clear that they genuinely liked Senior Quinn. Bella smiled at them before leaving.
Archer Quinn’s ward was on the third floor. Bella gently knocked on the door, and it was the assistant who came to open it.
Seeing Bella didn’t surprise him. "Bella, you’re here," he said as he stepped aside to let her and Piggy into the room.
"Yeah, is Senior Quinn feeling better?" Bella asked as she walked into the ward.
Archer Quinn was leaning against the bed, flipping through a script. He looked up when he heard Bella arrive, but upon seeing her complexion, he frowned, "Bella, why do you look so pale?"
"Just caught a bit of a cold." Bella sat down by his bedside and asked, "Senior Quinn, are you feeling better today?"
"Much better," Archer said with a slight concern in his eyes. "Have you had lunch yet?"
"Not yet," Bella replied. "I thought you’d be here alone, so I came to have lunch with you."
Archer smiled and instructed the assistant, "Go get us lunch."
"Sure thing." The assistant, eager to give Archer some private time with Bella, quickly agreed and took Piggy along under the pretense that he couldn’t carry all the food by himself.
Once the ward door was closed, Archer turned his attention back to Bella who was peeling an apple and asked, "Did you see Mr. Sinclair yesterday?"
Bella’s hand paused, causing the unbroken apple peel to snap. She tossed the broken peel into the trash bin and said, "I did. It’s quite serious."
Archer frowned. If Mr. Sinclair’s stomach bleeding was severe, Bella, given her feelings for him, would definitely stay at the hospital to take care of him no matter what. But she didn’t, and she looked exhausted and worn out. Did something unexpected happen?
Archer felt a pang of heartache and reached out to gently pat the top of her head, "Were you bullied?"
"No," Bella replied, continuing to peel the apple, but her voice carried a hint of a sob.
Archer frowned, seeing her so upset made him want to grab Damian Sinclair and fight him to vent her frustrations.
"Bella, is it really only him?" Archer hesitated for a moment before finally asking the question.
Bella’s hand paused again before she softly replied, "It’s not exactly that there’s no one else. It’s not that exaggerated. It’s just when someone has taken a place in your heart; they’re hard to forget and even harder to let go of."
But isn’t that exactly him?
Archer felt a bitter taste in his mouth as he heard this, but he couldn’t show it and could only change the subject, "Is it his mother giving you a hard time again?"
"There are other reasons too," Bella didn’t want to delve into the grievances between her father and the Sinclair family, instead forcing a smile and passing the peeled apple slices to Archer, "Senior Quinn, you’re still injured, don’t worry about me. Have some apple."
